Royal pleco - question

I have studies the pictures available here, and can't quite figure out something- are all baby Royals the olive-green color, or are the same types sometimes golden colored? I am asking because I have a beautiful baby that has been doing really well, and it's the more green coloration. The LFS has ...

changing water hardness

so, can anyone give advice on how to change the hardness of water. I live in Florida, use my well water, and have discovered that even with my efforts to lower the pH, the hardness is still off the scale. I have been told to just get the RO unit, but right now it's not in the budget. I have some ...

I agree that for any animal you take on, you should be prepared to commit to them whatever they need. Never having lived in a cold climate, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't build a pond or aviary outside. (The only reason I don't still have the 10" adonis from before is because I moved ...

IMHO- not trying to start any kind of argument, but I love these fish and feel they are being unfairly represented- I have kept 10" adonis in the past, and currently have two tiny babies. They are beautiful fish with fantastic personalities. They are very attentive to you and quickly learn to come ...

Thankyou, Shane. I did a search and that did not come thru for me ;) I guess when I get them I'll add to the general info! It sounds like they'll be fine in the tank I have in mind- it's a 32gal cube, filtered by a 304 Fluval, with driftwood, flourite substrate, a few hardy plants, strong air ...

Okay, I just did a search of the site, and nothing new showed up. Does anyone know how big these guys are full grown? And do you think they would be comfortable living in a tank with a mango pleco? From the links above, I gathered they(L-239) are a black water/ med-low pH, omnivorous, non ...

L-239 Blue Panaque

Hi all- I have ordered a pair of these L-239- I'm getting two at any rate- but the L listing doesn't have food/care/sexing parameters- does any one have these that can tell me what to expect? Or is there an L-species listed that is similar enough I could use it's parameters? thanx, starrfish71

just want to say hello! I have been a follower of Planet Catfish since before it was planet catfish- Hi Jools! While I may not post very frequently, I will visit. I used to live in south florida, now I am in central Fl. At one point I had 18 aquariums running, and have cared for multiple plecos and ...
