I found an Arched Cory at the LFS all by his lonesome. I didn't see that kind of cory around here very often and loved how cute the little guy was. I brought him home and he fit right in with my Peppers and Emerald Cats! Cories do love their own kind and don't seem to mind difference in appearences ...

Well Beersnob, I have to tell you that I appreciate your response. I don't have any cories with these guys. They're in one of my other tanks (9 total). The flagtails are in a 55 with 5 clown loaches and the barbs. I still have a shy flagtail-he seems to come out at feeding times only. The other one ...

-Just want to let you know that I have one flagtail that swims around all the time and one that stays in a cave most the time. I have seen him come out and grab some flake food. He looks very healthy and moves quickly, so I don't think he's sick. What do the cat experts think? Any comments welcome ...

I purchased another flagtail cat so the first guy I got would have a buddy. The thing is, they don't even hang out together. One is swimming around and the other is staying in the pvc pipe all the time. I don't think he's sick, because he'll come out the pipe to taste a pellet at feeding time. When ...

Hey Graeme-I know you from another forum. You're the loach expert. Well I just purchased 2 of these guys a couple of days ago. One of them swims around all the time, and the other hides out. I'm worried about the one that is not swimming around. Does anyone know what these guys like to eat? When I ...

Striped Rafael-Gotta Know??
Hello everybody- It's been a while! Well I think I'm in the right forum. I purchased a 55 gal and after cycling I started to stock it. I found a striped rafael and put it in the tank w/my tiger and rosey barbs. This cat is so laid back! The next day I found a smaller striped rafael for 1/2 the price ...

S. American BB Catfish & Clown Loaches
I just purchased a 55 gal tank to house juvenile Clown loaches (4). I have 2 BB cats in my current 29 gal. I want to put the bigger of the two in the 55 with the clowns. How well do you think this cat will like this situation? This will be a long term thing and I don't want to do this without any ...

Hey Crissytal- I have these guys in two of my tanks. When I first got the one I have in my 29 I hardly ever saw him. This went on probably for a month. After a while I started to see him more and more. This morning he's on the front of the inside of my tank and the lights on. I've had this guy two ...

Hey Brian, I believe your ph is too high. I keep my ph at a constant 7.0. I use ph 7.0 powder. It works very well. I don't know what other kind of fish you have that may need a higher ph. Have you checked out other websites to see what the Emeralds need in an aquarium? There are plenty of sites out ...

Hey Brian, I have 3 brochis splendens, better known as Emerald Catfish in my 29 gal tank. All I can tell you is that my cats are active night and day, and I have Giant Danios (5 of them swimming all over the place). Except for the occasional "catnapping" they are out 24/7. What are your water temps ...

Gravel removal
Hello-I want to know the best way to remove excess gravel from my 29 gallon tank. What would be a good procedure in doing this? My tank is completly cycled and everything is doing fine. When I bought my tank over a year ago, I was very new to the aquaria world. The salesgirl told me so many pounds ...

Corydoras or not-can you tell me?
Hello-When setting up my tank this spring I went looking for new fish. I wanted to get a posse of cories. I found a fish called Emerald cory catfish. They were the only goodsized cory cats I could find. Upon further research on internet I found a couple of opinions that these cats weren't of the ...

Bloated bumblebee catfish
Hi y'all, I just purchased a bumblebee (south american) catfish 3 days ago. It looked fine and healthy. After becoming acclimated and finding it's own little hiding place I was sure it was alright. Tonight when feeding my fish, it came out for it's dinner and what a sight I saw. It's belly was quite ...

ph adjustment
You should try putting ph7.0 in your tank. It is apowder-follow directions. This will bring down your ph to 7 and keep it there-very good stuff. Hope you can find this product or anything like it in England.
