this might not be fish tank related but we do not want the HZ fate to end up like the spix's macaws.

Where ever the collection site of the zebra is above or below the Dam there fate is still doomed as well as many other species of fish, a limited number should be collected with a certain size restriction, fish that are in between 1.5-2.5 inches TL so as to spare the wild breeders and leave the very ...

fishboy,
you need to start feeding the tank heavily I can see in the pictures you posted that the fry are very skinny and the belly are sunkin. the success you have is another step in saving this specie good luck on the next spawn it should be happening very soon.

rob,
You are doing fine 18 eggs left, not bad much better than the last one you had..... air stone "but not too strong" and keep the tank very dark would help, the fish should be hatching soon so keep the camera handy.

D zeb,
make sure to add an airstone in the hatching tank, remove the fungused egg promptly if it is hard to get to, you can poke it with a syringe and suck its content, this will avoid infecting the other eggs.
Good Luck

If the cave the male is using can be moved all you have to do is lean it on the wall of the tank or breeding basket at an angle the front opening facing down and the newly hatched eggs will roll out when the male moves, but if the fry are large enough they will swim back up the cave, I normally do ...

Phil,

it is always better to keep the fish in the same or closer water parameters where they came from, but my tap water comes out as high as 8.2 and very hard but my fish still managed to breed in this water, a constant water parameter is better than trying to adjust it less trouble on your part, after ...

Caril,
sure you can keep 1 or 2 zebra in a 5 gallon tank, but I would'nt guarantee that they would live long, one thing nice about them is when they die you would'nt even think thier dead the colors dont change that much untill they start to smell, and that would not take very long in a tank that ...
