Re: the illegal pl*co list
Hi Janne, as an insider and also an expert, do you have any updates on this whole thing? Has it been changed after the dam project is formally given green light? And I'm pretty sure Janne or someone else stated when the export ban was first instated that it was a "coarse measure to allow gathering ...

Re: the illegal pl*co list
Exactly!! Everyone knows after the dams are constructed, all zebra plecos in Rio Xingu will probably die, together with the popular fish such as L27, L25, L14, etc !! oh and edit, why is L046 not on the forbidden list? It's on the Brazilian endangered list of species and can not be more ...

the one on the left is more mild mannered and the one on the right is very agressive! kinda scary! He seems to be even sticking his soikes out on the side! I would be scared they would injure each other! :o what are the pretty yellow ones to the left? your tanks have awesome filtration and movement ...

are they wanting to get at each other to fight or what? they look strong enough to eventually knock that divider down! and they looks like they could do some damage to each other, spooky. Oh, and they are very beautiful. is that a powerhead or just the outflow from the filter? 1. They wanted to ...

Re: blue-eye panaque: gender
The males I've seen of these guys are quite furry at this size. Have you owned this fish for awhile? Is it in competition with others in it's tank? If not, I'd say this is a female by body shape, at that size. Barbie Thanks Barbie again. Yes, i have seen some alpha male fish of this size which are ...

Re: Gender: Blue-Eye Panaque
Thanks much Barbie and Mangopleco. This fish was recently acquired by me while I was told that the supplier had kept it for a while. It was claimed to be a 100% male fish while I serious doubted it. In addition, with the given caves, it never loves to stay inside. Instead, it always hangs around on ...

Thanks and Mats is perfectly right, the true L173 and L46 are two different species
(look at their eyes and full-grown size, you would see the big difference).

blue-eye panaque: gender
Dear All,
I have kept the following blue-eye panaque for some time and
I would like to seek your comments on its gender. Please take
a look. It's 12 inches long (not including the extended tips of caudal fin),
and should be a young adult. Thanks

Dear Friends: Thanks. Don't worry, as mattfaulkner said, it's a matter of "out-of-water"
thing. By the way, my observation also shows me that blue-eye panaque (of this type
from Columbia) has deeper eyes. Some updated photos are as follows.

Dear Mats: You're right and I believe that the aquarium hobby does not harm the environment as much as other things such as the DAM project. In addition, the quantity of fish ...
