The right amount of iron

I have been adding a liquid plant fertiliser on every partial water change (weekly). It includes iron. Is it safe to keep adding ? Is there an unsafe level ?

How can you check , is there a test kit available ??

sorry for all the questions but i dont want to poison my fish

just a quick update - claned the gravel more often - appears to have stopped growing on the wood now, occasionally see it growing out of the lower water intake grille on the internal filter and then disappear. Much Happier Now !!

Thanks

It's been running for a few days now. Really simple to set up and operate. The lever at the top can regulate the flow. I have had to add a second spray bar in series to get the water discharge speed down. This is a very nice bit of kit.

New Eheim 2026 Filter For My Trigon 190

The internal filter supplied with the Trigon 190 is a good biological filter but when it comes to mechanical filtration in my opinion it just doesn't do the job. I have a well stocked aquarium and the water was not as clear as i wanted it. I was therefore on the lookout for an additional filter ...

it does spread quickly (1-2mm/hour)sometimes quicker. It will spread across a piece of wood for example and then disappear. It then may start again from another point on the same piece of wood. I'm not sure if it grows in the dark although i did see some starting to grow on the tank wall starting ...

Help !! Cloudy Sweet Smelling Water

I noticed last night that the water was very slightly cloudy but i thought nothing of it. I looked again this morning and the water is very cloudy and there is a sweet smell when i open the tank lid. One of my golden barbs had died overnight. I have changed 1/3 of the water before going to work but ...

I live in Chessington but work in Woking. I get most of my fish from Chessington Garden Centre. They have a fairly large aquatic set-up over there.

Thanks for the advice.

Juwel Trigon 190

Hello I purchased a Juwel Trigon 190 about 8 months ago and have set it up as a community tank. Just recently I purchased what i was told was a leopard pleco and was told it would grow to about 10 inches. I have checked the photos on te web and think it is a Liposarcus Pardalis. It would appear that ...
