http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l210/fish_4_all/BNWhiteGillplate.jpg Here is a picture of the normal lobe turned white. It comes and goes on both the male and the female. Other than that, they never show any other signs of stress. It is also only on one lobe and the other one never turns at the ...

Well the male is 5 inches and the female is 3 inches. Only other tnak mates are 2 small corys, 1 inch and 9 neon tetra. Heavy planted but I have been told they might not like the small tank. Anyway, I will get a picture of it when it happens again. Both of them have lost the whiteness but I am sure ...

BN pleco showing white gills plate (Now with picture)
Ok, I know this is not Ick. The white spots are limited to the part of the gill plate that is under the head. There are 2 distinct lobes under there and that is what is turning white. Female BN aggression

The resident female found the "intruder" and they started to battle. Flailing their heads and tails around with horns fully extended. Needless to say I didn't ...

I am going to add a couple more caves, get some crushed coral to raise the pH and get some blood worms to see if that helps. I guess the pH needs to be between 7.0 and 7.4 so that could be why Bud is moping more than he normally does. He has kinda staked out a cave but he doesn't seem to interested ...

BN breeding and courting questions
I think my male and female are getting reado to breed but i have a few questions. The female, Silver, has been moving in and courting the male, Bud, by flahsing at home, waving her tail and just flirting. Bud in turn showns his bristles, breathes hard and just kinda returns her advances nonchalant ...
