and again i've got a new one for you to identify.



the owner and myself thought it was an peckoltia spp. but we couldn't get a confirmation out of the Cat-eLog.

so please tell me what you think.

yeah a L202 was my first guess to, but when I mailed some of the pics to Jools, he replied that it looked like a L209..

so I'm still not sure what it is.. pretty sure its not a 209 though..

I own two of these wonderfull Panaque species...
and this is wat I give them:

cucumber
courgette/zucchini
some algue tablets
and off course loads of wood :P :wink: You will be amazed how much wood these guys can eat... so be prepared :lol:

also keep in mind that these animals will become pretty ...

One of my friends has bought this catfish and never really knew what species it is... so maybe you can help out :wink:

its probably ur PH, it should be around 6.5-7 so urs is a little bit high. that might explain the situation its in.

and maybe a stupid question, but do you have bogwood in your aquarium, because that is what they eat, and of course other foods as well.

ok tnx for the ID, and yeah its a blind one, lost both of his eyes. at least its taken care of properly, enough wood for him to chew on, same wood as i give my nigro's. and it the only pl*co in the tank, zo now fighting over the food.

so i got a new catfish for you to give an ID on, its of a friend and was sold as an peckoltia vitattus :roll: (which obviously should be vitatta) and its not an L080. I checked :p i thought it is somesort of a peckoltia but a friend thinks is a sort of panaque,

so the one with the smaller window is supposed to be older, thats possible, only he is about a centimeter smaller then the on with the big window. perhaps he hasn't developed in the right way? or is it a deifferent species?

as you may have seen, i've lately bought 2 Royals, one of them turned out to be a L190, because he had a "window" in his tail. well yesterday i looke at the other one, and i saw a very small "window". now here's my question:

anyone else thinks its a L202?, i've mailed nearly every fish store in the netherlands, and just one of has the possiblity to order a L202.

the sexing is done by the spikes who are at the base of the most forward fins right?

if so i have a male en will order a female.

MatsP i don't think that it is an L080. the markings are quite different. i thought i looked like an L202, but does any1 of you thinks the same, or am i horribly wrong.
