that particular electric zapped me a few times when it was still a wee 5-6" and we just bought it for a few bucks (they wanted to get rid of it). not a nice experience, especially when carrying the fish in a wet fish-bag under my shirt because it was cold outside....... What??? Really I did not ...

Blue fin bristlenose

A while back there was some people wanting to see one of these. Last night debating on weather to scrape the glass of my tank there he was out in the open. So here it is. Keep in mind that aside from these pics being some of the crappiest I have ever taken and the glass being really dirty and it ...

Think outside the box! Why get hung up on catfish as tankmates for your Hemichromis? Since you're obviously into large predatory fish, why not something like Hydrocynus goliath? In the case of H. fasciatus, it would even be more or less biotopicaly correct. Hopefully that was a joke. I am really ...

not good. the catfish "most likely to adapt to c*****ds" are tough Synodontis, like nigrita, ocellifer, eupterus, obesus, nigromaculatus, schall or angelicus. If the Syno's get pounded upon, a Bagrid and especially a Doradid (!) will get ripped to pieces; something I've seen too often already ...

See that is the thing. It is in to small of a space to swim at all and it does lay on its belly. It looks a lot like the fish in the catelog.

Black Synodontis?

Does anybody have pics of what a lfs has labelled as a black synodontis. There is one at a LFS near me about 8 inches in length. Jet black with a few silver specs which makes me pretty confident it is a Heterobagrus leucophasis. Having said that the store owner tells me otherwise as they look very ...

I have two about 5-6 inches each in a grow out tank that they now are considered permanent residents of. I really like them. Tthey are a very active catfish and also a great clean up crew. They fight with eachother most days, but nobody ever scars (I swear they act like they playfight). As for other ...

I would just a small one. Mine has grown to about 14 inches in about 9 months. That is after being stunted at 4-5 in a 50 at the fish store for a year. I think they grow as fast as any cat I have owned.

Wyckoides Who has, or does have them

Now that I have figured out which one I have I am just interested to hear from others who have ART. Are they pretty much the same in personality as a wyckii? How big have you seen them, what do you feed them etc? Pics would be cool as well. All I can find on the internet is wild ones. I would be ...

I had to get pics out of water unfortunately (hard to take pics of them) so the color is drowned out and the white on the caudal which is there for sure doesn't show as much but here you go

They do seem to have white edges on the caudal. So I guess they are wyckii which I am happy about. I just am still a bit unsure as they are $10 for 3 inch fish which seems really cheap for one from what I have seen. This is usually the cost for a ARTC I understand, but crystal eyed it seems really ...
