And Kimmers L pardalis is free to a good home, now or in the future if anyone is interested. My tank is 64 gal, footprint 36X18, which most likely won't be big enough for him in the long run. Not knowing enough about plecos except that most get huge is why I haven't purchased anything other than the ...

That has pretty much been the general consensus I have heard...and since I am by no means edu-ma-cated about different pleco species I just go with it! He was given to me because her son's fish kept dying...unfortunately he was in a 10 gal and she was told he wouldn't outgrow it  He is ...

Not trying to steal someones thread or anything...so my apologies...but this pleco I was given looks very similar when his color is washed out and I think this is a good pic of his dorsal fin....I am counting more than 7 rays if I am looking right. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h216/kimmers318 ...

All along I have been using a standard gravel vac and thought all was working well, although slowly. I then "inherited" a pleco from a friend who said all of her son's fish were dying and she didn't want it to keep happening so the pleco and tiger barb were given to me to "save". They were ...

Now why didn't I think of that??? The room the tank is in actually has a back door that has maybe a 3 inch step down with a drain just around the corner....hmmmm...this just might do it! Thanks a bunch...don't know what I will do when the snow starts flying, but it will help things for a ...

suggestions on battery gravel vac....sand substrate?

Anyone using any of them? Which ones, what do you like/dislike about it? I have tried the pennplax super, and the aquatic gardens version, both have a nice feature of being able to attach a hose for water removal...but the penn plax is too tall for my short tank (20 gal long) and the aquatic gardens ...

He is already doing better as of last night, out cleaning the glass instead of hiding, and actually his coloring changed and is quite a bit darker with less of the "leopard" looking spots. Today is a day full of doctor's appts with my Dad and going into work early, so I will try to get some new ...

Any idea on how fast this little goomer will grow? As I stated, he will be in 20 gallon Q tank for awhile to make sure all is healthy, he can live in my 64 for awhile, but even that won't be good for the long run. We already have a common in the 90, and this future tankbuster will be too much for ...

Thanks for the info....I will make sure he becomes a happy healthy plec and find him the right home. For now he can stay here and be spoiled a bit along with my others.

ID for a rescue plec-updated pics

A friend of mine brought me this little guy at work tonight because her son's fish are dying at a rate of 1 a month or so and she didn't want it to keep happening! (There was also a lone tiger barb if anyone is interested, I don't have a school to add him to!) He/she is 3.5 inches long from nose to ...

I agree the price was a little ridiculous zebrapl3co, but it was the ONLY store I could find them in, I am restricted to a smaller pleco for space reasons, and although hubby's tank could house a larger pleco we didn't want a tankbuster knocking his rock formations over as it got bigger! The common ...

Thanks so much! His tank is horrible with algae because he (over) feeds the spirulina flake and another "fugly" would be a great answer!

Sorry this is so late coming to this post...but...hubby wants a bristlenose for his mbuna tank. The albino is the only one we have seen around here, so that is the only option. I have one in my 29 gal and love "Fugly" to death. My question is in your guys' experience, any issues with them living in ...

Wish the bristlenose were more common around here....I paid $18 a piece for the 2albinos we have. Swallowed rather hard for the first purchase...the second was much easier to handle after seeing what a great job these little guys do!
