I have now two big plecos in my tank: gibby and common, and they get along with syno´s very well. Common pleco had lived it´s life (now 9 years old) with a turtle in a small tank  .It had been bitten by turtle, and had serious wounds, but it is now in good condition. I think, that there isn´ ...

I thought allso, that angelicus could be a bad idea... I had that notatus allso in my mind with greshoffi/ decorus (which is quite big)/congicus and alberti. Of course another acanthomias would allso be nice. These ones, that I have in mind are living in a 300 l.tank with other big syno´s (in a a ...

My s. acanthomias is three or four years old and 26 cm long and according to different sources, it doesn´t reach 60 cm in aquarium. It should be real acanthomias, because I have seen other cat´s identified as acanthomias: these and my cat are identical and the identifier is finnish expert, who has ...

Syno tank
Hi! I´m planning to establish a new tank for different syno´s (and my present fishes too). My present tank contains 576 litres and it´s 160 cm long. Alltouhgt this tank is big, I think it´s too short for big syno´s which I have dreamed. My next tank will be 240 cm long, 55 cm high and 55/60 cm w ...

I think, that my cat doesn´t have these spikes, or they aren´t easily recognizable. When I look closely, it may have very tiny spots in the head, but I´m not sure about that. It would be nice to see more photos from this fish, there aren´t so much pictures from S. Acanthomias in the web. I think, ...

Hi! Photo helped a lot! Caudal fin looks like the same, but my cat´s adipose fin is little bit taller and shorter than S.Acanthomias has. Dorsal fin is toothed. Eyes are allso much bigger and nose isn´t so long. It is allso a little bit more chubber than the cat in the photo. I looked the photos of ...

I don´t have a digicamera, so I can´t post a picture :( . It really looks like S. Acanthomias without those spots on the head. Spots that cover the body are about 2 mm big (or smaller). Could it be S. Omias? My fish doesn´t swim upsidedown (doesn´t S. Omias swim sometimes that way?). Or maybe S. ...

Hi! Here is a description of my Synodontis Acanthomias(?). It´s now about 25 cm long, 3-4 years old. It´s brown coloured and has also some gold in the fins and stomach. Black spots are quite small ( smaller than in Planet Catfish´s photo of S. Acanthomias). There are no spots at the head! Head is ...

Situation is now this: I forgot to tell, that I promised to take Acanthomias from it´s present owner, who can´t keep it anymore. His apartment is going to be repaired and fishes have to move temporarily into a smaller tank :( . So there isn´t enough room for Acanthomias and for couple of Discus. I ...

Acanthomias
Thanks for information! Finnish catfishspecialist, who has had these fishes, says in his book, that Acanthomias will grow 30 cm long (max) in aquarium. It can be territorial, but it off course depends on individual. I must say again, that the present owner said, that there has´nt been any problems w ...

S. Acanthomias
Hi! Any experience of Synodontis Acanthomias? I found only one discussion which related to this fish (from this forum), and there is´nt much information in the web. I´m going to have one of these giants and the present owner said, that fish is now about four years old, 30 cm´s long and quite calm. ...
