I have one mirror carp and definately want at least one flash zebra (Brachyplatystoma juruense). This is going to be a very large tank and I would prefer to have just few very large specimins as oppossed to a large cummunity tank. A six inch fish is smaller than I was looking for but if the others ...

I have come accross a Banjo cat for sale at my LFS and am facinated with the prehistoric look of the critter. I am currently looking for a few speices that will mature to a very large size for use in my big aquarium that will be installed later this year. The guy at the LFS said that the Banjo would ...

Well I actually like the look of the website it's nice to see something other than the typical PN grey. The darker red font is a bit hard to read against the black though. I would sugest changing the small font to the brighter red. Looks like it might develop into a nice website when participation ...

The room the tank is going into is a new family room addition and is super insulated with walls 1'2" thick. It will be both heated and air conditioned, air temp will typicly be between 68-74 F. Sounds like a 36" wide tank would be better in the long run for the Carp, so I will plan on a 144" X 36" X ...

Stocking a 700 gal tank
OK I am planning a 700 gal tank 144in long / 24in wide / 48in high. I currently have two Mirror Carp and a common Pleco. I am thinking of getting at least one (maybe two) more Carp to raise to full maturity. I would like to have some large catfish in the tank as well. My question is what types of ...

Yes Mats I'm awarwe that the carp will get much bigger, they have currently doubled in size every year so far. I know they can get to over 40 lbs and am planning a much larger tank. some people think I'm crazy for keeping them as they get pretty ugly when mature but they have imprinted on me and get ...

I have a small 20gal tank with a 4" pl*co and a couple of 5" mirror carp. I was told that aration was a good way to help reduce ammonia concentrations and installed a "bubble wand" about a month ago. All three fish love it, they are more active and look much happier. Even the pl*co likes to play in ...
