I think I'd want some plants that are similar to the one in my native area, and I'd want some rocks or driftwood to hide under i agree with the above. the more natural the better. below is a pic of a new-ish tank setup that houses my 2 BN's. it has more plants and a couple of rocks in it now. the ...

i havent owned many catfish so my choice is easier. still a hard choice between my corys and my bristlenoses. if i have to choose it has to be my bristlenoses, for a few reasons. they stay small which is good when u dont have a massive tank, they do a great job at algae cleaning, mine have great ...

similar to reticulatus
hi folks. i need to start this with an appology for the fact that i dont have a pic of my fish yet. i bought a cory recently that as far as i can tell looks like a reticulatus. the trouble is when i look at the pics of reticulatus here, it is almost the same but doesnt have the same black spot on ...

nice fish kana but well i have to be biased and say mine are nicer ;) on not having seen her for a few weeks, one thing i love about my existing fish is he is not the least bit shy. he spends a lot of the day in view and when its feeding time - nothing gets in the way of him and his food, lol ...

thanks for the input guys. i am in agreement that it is probably Ancistrus sp(3). body shape seems to be male from what MatP says. i am not keen to take him out the tank to see if his nose is smooth or not. i am not sure about the ridge. i dont think i see one but will look closer later today when ...

Driftwood, how to make it safe?
(hopefully this is posted in an appropriate forum room, i wasnt sure which i should use) i have been thinking of collecting driftwood from one of my local lochs (lakes) partly as the selection of bogwood and mopani wood is limited and costly here plus i never seem to see any realy big bits. i have ...

thanks kana3, i agree with Ancistrus and that it is hard to say which one exactly. which makes me doubtful i will ever be able to get an 'exact' partner match :( i am beginning to think this might be a female. as u say and from what i've now read, females can have bristles around their mouth. mine ...

hi folks. i have had this 'guy' for about a year now. i had 2 but (sad story coming) they fought a lot so i put the second that i bought in a smaller tank. unfortunately the second fish didnt like his new tank. over night he must have crawled out a small gap at the back of my tank, lept off and ...
