Thanks Silurus. The thing is my Sorubims are different colored. My larger one is nearly gray colored on the top of his body, and he has been that color all his life. My smaller Sorubim is brown on the top of his body, and has black streaks on top of the brown.

Sorubims

Does anybody keep or have pix of Sorubim species, other than the lima? I have been trying to find info and pix on these fish but I can't find any. I'm especially looking for pix on S. elongatus. Physical descriptions of these are okay. Just wondering.

Brackish Cats

Here's a new question. Are there any true brackish cats, other than ariids? I haven't seen any posts on this at all, save one. If so, where are they from, and how big do they get? I am not looking for a cat that can standbrackish, but a cat that naturally occurs in brackish.

Those fish in the "happy" three year old Aquababy were rosy barbs, which get 6 inches, and need to be kept in large groups. Perhaps next they will force RTC into plastic cups and tell people they are happy and helathy. Once, again the adverising dollar has enslaved more fish. Really ticked off ...

Mine was a pl*co, a blue crayfish, and 4 pirahna in my 75. The pirahna chowed through(count them!), 3 tiger barbs, 1 eel,the crayfish, 2 rasboras, each other's fins, my plec's fin, and several other things I can't remember. It was a year long nightmare. SorubimLima

Sharkman, I'm only a kid but I'm pretty sure that even some genetically different animals can get the same size or bigger of their normal counterparts. Hi, this is to just say that if a fish, say aarapaima gigas, which gets 15 feet, in a 4 foot aquarium, it will either 1. die from lack of food, 2. continue to grow until it bursts the tank or snaps its spinal cord, or 3. become stunted by lack of space. I am not totally sure on number 2, though so I ...

Courtney, you said you had snail, a ropefish, and guppies, among other things. A ropefish in a 55 is pushing it sizewise, and once he hits about 4-5 inches, the guppies and snails are doomed, because the rope is nocturnal and quite predatory. They guppie's colors probably condemn them more. And from ...

Hi. Does anybody have any suggestions for a catfish in a ten gallon tank? It needs to be a maximum of 2 inches, yet tough enough to stand up to my betta. I do not want any cories! I was thinking maybe a different species of otocinclus, other than the common one. This catfish has to be small and ...

I think a slow feeder, like a pl*co would be good because it would rarely eat the eel or lima food, and is fairly slow, plus it will eat algae. Somewhat off topic, it is illegal for Asian fish importers to import clown loaches of over 4" to anywhere to protect future generations. Just some food for ...

Oman, they will probably be fine. Mine has to compete with a common pl*co in a 75 gallon, and the pl*co is a voracious eater! They will eat shrimp and other meaty foods, although they aren't good for the Farlowella's nutrition. It will eat algae wafers, but it might take a while for them to ...

Hi, from what I have read, a full grown Dempsey will toatlly destroy smaller and weaker fish like a small pl*co or a school of say, tetras as the dither fish. Hey guys. In my experience, my raphael never has made any noise not even a peep, and I have had him for about a year. Any noise made will probably be muffled by the filter, tank glass, lid, etc. so the sound waves will be very faint with all these obstacles. Hope I could help.
