Farlowella cats

I recently got two farlowella from my LFS. When I first got them they looked exactly alike, dark brown with no other colors. After having them for 2 weeks, they have changed dramatically. One is a very light brown with a black stripe on both sides, while the other is a dark grey color with the ...

Cory whiskers

My sister got 4 little albino cories(not sure what species exactly) about a two months ago. Once released I noticed that they had no whiskers! Assuming that they had been attacked by some fish or been rubbed off on rough substrate, I paid it no mind. Now its 2 months later and not one of the catfish ...

Already on it, sidguppy. I'm not getting any Central Americans. Green terrors are South American, scientific name is Aequidens rivulatus. I agree with you on the Geo, but since I already have had him for 4 months, not getting him is not an option. I think he'll be fine by himself, he just ...

I was worried about the pikes too,but i'm planning on getting one of the smaller to medium sized ones. Hopefully too small to kill the other fish, but too big to be killed by them. That's the plan, anyway. We'll see how it works out.

keep the suggestions comin!

I am going to have singles of each. That way they won't mate and attack rest of tankmates, also less conspecific aggresion.

If Synodontis multipunctatus is too big for the poster's tank I would recommend a couple of the dwarf strain of Syno. Petricola. Only gets about 3 in., if I remember correctly. Also won't cuckoo breed and eat all the Malawian eggs like multi's would :) .

Corys for discus tank

My dad and I building a 250 gallon tank and were planning on making it heavily planted with discus and some tetras.

Is there any particular corydoras that will be able to handle the acidic and hot(82F) water that discus require?

If so, how many should I get?

Number of Petricola

I'm planning on getting some S. Petricola for my 40 gal. high. They will be in there with some calvus and cyprichromis cichlids. How many petricola would fit in this tank?
