ID my ancistrus
Not the worlds best photo but I imagine it might be sufficient. i can try and get more photos, but what could we assume him to be? He was sold as a medusa pleco, the ranunculus type. True? False? I didn't pay much for him, but would love to know. What kind of photos might help more? Top down? for ...

I've kept colomesus asellus with Microglanis iherengi, Psuedomystus siamensis and BN's before now. I kept Tatia perugae with carinotetraodon puffers, and they pestered them. Colomesus asellus is the most placid of the puffers available, but still shouldn't be cobined with fish that can't stand up ...

Excuse my naivety, I can't even vaguely to pretent to know a lot about catfish husbandry or medical procedures, but would the possiblity of anaesthetising the fish, clipping the arm off, and then feeding the fish animal fats (in order for it to vomit) be a viable option? It's terrible to see a fish ...

Skinny plec, not eating.
http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b382/fellasfish/DSCN1493.jpg I've recently been sold this fish, and upon getting him home have noticed that he is quite skinny, and is very "inactive", to the point where I have to check for signs of respiration. I'm assuming that he might be too far gone, but what ...

Sold as Butterfly pleco, he's in quite rough shape (didn't check the fish before I took it home, schoolboy error).

I've just got into mastacembelids, and have got a peacock spiny eel. They're lovely fish, and I'm considering getting a few more. Mine isn't in my c*****d tank, but could be in the future. I keep a tang tank (multis and paracyprichromis) so it's something I might keep an eye out for. Many thanks ...

Re: Synodontis Manni
My LFS is selling these fish. They claim that they are a new synodontis, first described in 2001, and furthermore they are the first store in the UK to be selling them (!!!). Which store? I am travelling around this week and may be able to drop in and take some pictures. Also, who was the importer ...

Except for the very fine pattern of dots on the head, it actually doesn't look too far off a schoutedeni. Really? It's the dots that put me off, and the fact that the lines on his body are so thick. All research I did showed them as having much finer lines. I was praying for Ornatipinnis but I'm ...

I'm guessing this fella is a Czech made hybrid. Any ideas what the ingredients are? Synodontis + Cow perhaps? http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b382/fellasfish/DSCN1136.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b382/fellasfish/DSCN1131.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b382/fellasfish/DSCN1130 ...

Eutropiellus buffei - Compatible for my tank?
Hi there I was wondering the minimum tank size for a group of these african glass catfish http://www27.brinkster.com/janbuk/Eutropiellus_buffei.jpg I have a 30 long 40x18x12 tank, and was wondering if 6 specimens would find good home in it. Other occupants are - Neolamprologus multifasciatus x 3 ...

That's great news, he's the one I'm after! Many thanks on the ID. Are these guys easy to look after? Do they create much waste? I've just had a filter crash and was wondering if he and the siamensis collectively could have destroyed the filter to the point of my ammonia reading 4.0 within 24 hours ...
