thanks for the replies. If he is meant to look like that then that is fine, it's just he didnt when i first got him, so i wasnt sure.
He hasnt got any orangeish/redish hue on the outer edge of the fins.

Hi, I'm worried about my pleco, his skin isnt all one colour, there seems to be lines of a fainter colour on his body. and lately he seems a bit lighter in colour all over. Thanks for your replies. I managed to solve the internal parasite problem. I got hold of some anti-parasite treatment and all my fish seem happy and back to normal.

I have some platys in my tank which I think have some parasite problems cos they are pooing white/almost transparent poo, and i read somewhere that could be due to parasites. I'm treating them with methylene blue, but I just wanted to check to make sure that is safe to use with plecos.
