Corydoras Reticulatus

I have a good group of 12 Corydoras reticulatus in a 30 gallon aquarium, pH 6.8, total hardness less than 4 degrees, 30% water change once per week. They eat well, frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms, flake food, chopped earthworms, whiteworms. The females have increased girth, easy to tell the sexes ...

Corydoras semiaquilus blackperu spawning behaviour

I have three of these beauties in a 25 gallon and this morning I noticed that they were spawning. Typical corydoras spawning behaviour, lots of chasing, the male touching the female with his barbels around the head and stomach area. The went into the T-position about two inches off the snad, fell to ...

The ammonia level rose so high because you tank is not cycled. It takes at least three weeks of running to acheive the appropriate levels of benefical bacteria required. Then you add fish slowly to build up the bio load. If you have another aquarium running seed the tank with filter material from it ...

Scleromystax barbatus

Back in October I posted about my Scleromystax barbatus spawning and having difficulty in hatching the eggs. Many infertile and the eggs just wasting away. Finally I am getting hatches, 51 total in the last batch, with three deaths. I had to drop the Ph from 7.4 to 6.2 and drop the KH to less than 1 ...

Sexing Corydoras sp. cf elegans C123

Is there anyway of sexing C123 Corydoras sp. cf elegans. I received Qty 4 of these beauties today. Two of them are close to three inches long and the other two are just under two and half inches. They are suppose to be wild caught, but they seem to exceptionally healthy, nice and fat. I need to ...

I agree with mummymonkey. Goodieds will pester your cories to death. The two of them do not go together. I have both species of fish and they do not mix.

Red Pest?

Ian Is this red pest? About two months ago I acquired Qty 6 Corydoras Sterbai, rather large, 2 inches long, and they were wild caught. Five of them died from this disease, looks identical to the above photograph, except on their sides under the scales. A definite bacterial infection that ended with ...

Thanks

Hi Barbie Thanks for the informative and knowledgable response. I am actually looking to work on a few of the smaller species of plecos, just for something to do that is different. I know what you mean about making the money to support MTS, multipe tank syndrome. I presently breed Apisto's, West ...

L213 information

I can get my hands on Qty 6 of this species, but can find very little information, or even a photograph of this species.
Does any have a photograph of them they can post, and can you people tell me a little about them.
I like to research my fish before I purchase them.

Thanks for everything

Breeding the smaller sized plecos

I have access to any species of pleco I want and am interested in trying my and at breeding them. Are there any recommendations on these fish as to the types that would settle down and breed in a home aquarium. I am presently building nine aquariums 24" wide 36 " long by 12 or 18" high. There will ...

The temperature of the aquarium flucuates between 68 and 72 degrees F. I do a 20 precent water change every second or third day and feed them well. Lots of worms, brine shrimp (frozen) and a high quality flake. They are in 35 gallon with 5 Laetacara curviceps, another cool water lover. I just ...

The eggs were removed and put in a hatching tub with gentle aeration and a drop of methylene blue. After a few days the eggs, actually kept ...
