Hi,
I've been looking for the L number of Parancistrus aurantiacus, the rubber or chubby pleco. Am I blind? I can't seem to find it!
Any help would be appreciated!

Sail fin and substrate
I was wondering if a sail fin (gibby) would be alright if I used pool filter sand as a substrate? It's generally 1 - 3mm in size and I want to use it in my new tank.

Wildfish: I agree, the bigger the better. :D MastsP: That was an idea I had too, I figure I could almost do a catfish rescue center thing. I haven't made up my mind yet though, and I figure I'm probably 5 - 10 years away from this tank anyhow so I have time to sort it all out. I also have plans for ...

Oh, I think I mislead you, I'm sorry. I was attempting to ask a general question about the nature of the cats. I've seen a few around town that come into pet stores and they're usually around 2 - 3 feet long. I was thinking to rescue one and wanted to add some buddies to his tank. I was just worried ...

Question concerning SA Red Tails
Hi,
One question about the red tail cats, if someone had a large one, say 4+ feet and introduced a juvenile that was a foot or under, is there a danger of the little guy being eaten, or will the bigger red tail leave its own species alone?
Thanks!

Ok, I see, that makes perfect sense. I had intended to re-arrange the tank as I bought a lot of mopani wood this weekend, so I'll give that a try. I also want two more pictus in there for when I turn the tank into a fully planted environment for them, so I'll get them now and hopefully that will ...

Pictus Question
Hello, I have had a single pictus cat for almost a year, and I finally decided to get him a friend, another pictus. I've read they get along with their own kind but that's not my experience. I've had the new guy a few days but they don't get along, is this normal? Should I wait longer before ...

My pictus eats about once a week. When he does, he eats so many pellets you can actually see the outlines of individual pellets thorugh his skin. Then he's fat and happy for a long time. As for being active/inactive, I think I found out how to make them very active. I have a large canopy of java ...

These fish need immense filtration. They can actually kill themselves by regurgitating stomach acid and burning their gills. This is probably what happened at some point to the poor fishie. As a note, a full grown adult needs at least 1500 gallons to itself. I've seen these fish reach over 5 feet in ...

Chubby Pleco
Hello, I was just looking for some info on the Chubby pleco. I've searched the forums and looked at the other info, but I just need to make sure i get this right. First off, it's a veggie eater, correct? Do they need any protein at all? Also, I understand they like good oxygenated water and strong ...
