Yeah after I put the goldfish in there (they were about the size of almonds) I didn't like them in there so I took them out that night but the cats had eaten about 5 of them. They are pretty voracious. When I feed in my tank they come up to the top and will kind of skim across the top and eat the ...

I am pretty sure thats what they are. I bought them at a local store when they were probably about 2" long and thats what the tag called them. Another question I have is my biggest pictus has turned somewhat irredesent and I was wondering what could cause that.

These are not small fish I have ut in graumis and large barbs. So recently finally being fed up I bought 3 bala sharks that are about 2-3" and put them in the ...

OK maybe I did not make myself clear, I am not suggesting that people do this I am just tired of listening to you bite peoples heads off for having these fish in small tanks. And just FYI, my dads fish had all been raised togehter and were heathly and happy. You could put your fingers in the tank ...

Large Catfish and Oscars in Small Tanks

Ok I know that it is not the best idea to keep large fish in a small tank but it can be done. When I was younger my dad had 2 oscars (11" each), a pacu (11"), and a shovel nose(about a foot and a half) and they all lived together in a 55 gallon tank. I am not saying that this is right but they all ...

I have a pair of pictus in my tank and although the female was been full of eggs and has laid them they were never fertalized and then eaten. I know that some people have been successful in breeding them but it is extremely rare because everything has to be perfect.

yeah I thought that it was normal for them to be so active becasue my dad had a shovelnose that was super active but now that I am reading about them I have come to believe that my two cats are weird but I love them because they have personalities. They will follow my finger around the tank with ...

I feed all the fish just flake food and we put some small guppies in the tank every now and then. I haven't noticed one eating more than the other. Last week they killed one of my mollies and they shared the fish .

Pictus Catfish Question

Hi everyone, I have a 50 gallon tank with two pictus cats, a yoyo loach, pleco, and three little tetras. They have all lived together for 3 years now. The cats were bought at the same time and now one is a little larger than the other and it also has a huge belly that has become real lumpy. Can ...
