Re: Which part of the world are you from?
I have been posting for a while but never gave where I am from. Well I am from Union, NJ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Township,_Union_County,_New_Jersey) which is known as being the hometowns for Roberth Wuhl of the famous movie "Hollywood Knights" and Ray Liotta. We also have the worlds ...

Re: Can I add a more fish...?
Hi WhiteWaves, I wouldn't add any more fish as the sailfin plecos can get close to 18 inches which are too big for your current tank I have a Lapardis in a 45 gallon tall (same width and length as a 30 gallon) and he/she is over 9 inches and even that fish is too big for my current tank.

Re: Best way to slowly raise PH?
Why do you want to raise or lower PH? My experience is that most fish are adaptable to whatever PH the water is if extremes are avoided. I believe the reason your PH is so low compared to the tap water is that you have a lot of carbon dioxide in your tank. Water mixes with carbon dioxide making ...

You can deal with Pedro at: http://www.aquascapeonline.com I ordered 3 gold nuggets the price was good, but all died with a week of getting them, so be careful. The best place in North NJ to get plecos are Shark Aquarium and Pet Shanty. Shark Aquarium has a good selection but the owner (George) is ...

Re: Questions: Canister Filters, Diatom Polishers and Feeding
Hello, I have an Eheim Economy model which works fine, it was relatively inexpensive (around $100 with shipping), but I would not buy it again as its outflow is slow. You are better off getting the Eheim classic or pro. For the money the best filter I ever had was an AquaClear 300. This filter is ...

Re: Moving in a month. Whats the best way?
If carefully planned and with some help, you can move everything in one day but to be safe I always plan for 2 days. With 4 people I was able to move from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house (with 2 fish tanks and a cat) in approximately 12 hours. I was tired but I got everything done. The ...

Re: Moving in a month. Whats the best way?
Hi, I moved 2 tanks several years ago. What I found to be easiest is to move the tanks with a little bit of water (around 2 inches) and with the plants attached. It was also the first thing I moved early in the morning. Prior to Move: Don’t feed the fish for 4 days prior to move Do a large water c ...

Re: Don't Dump Your Old Water!
With my weekly water changes I use the water as follows: In spring/summer/fall - 1 bucket for the houseplants 2 buckets for the plants on deck 2 buckets for the plants in front of the house and the rest for tomatoes. In Winter(or when the plants are dead) 1bucket for the house plants Rest I use the ...

I see you are in Delaware, if you don't mind a 2 hour drive I can recommend some nice LFS near me. I have 2 within 5 miles that stock very nice exotic catfish.
In PA you could go to That Fish Place in Lancaster, good prices and a large selection.

Re: When is tank too deep for corys?
Hello, I have cories in a 10 gallon tank (app 30cm deep) and they are breeding while the cories in the 45 gallon tank (app 60 cm deep) are not breeding. All other water parameters are the same except when I do a water change on the 10 gallon I change 90% of the water while on the 45 I do a 40% water ...

I haven't read this one: I wanted a new fish tank but my wife wouldn't let me buy one so 2 years ago I gave my brother money to buy the tank (in this way I didn't buy it) and while she was away on a business trip I changed all the fish from the 30 gallon to the new 45 gallon tank I purchased. If you read some of my other posts I don't know if I was the best he could have. I made many mistakes in fish keeping from plugging in filters into the timer for the lights to overstocking tanks. I can say in my 20 years of keeping fish the secret to keeping them was massive weekly water changes. No ...

Same Issue

Pterygoplichthys pardalis maximun size
Hello all, I have a question regarding the maximum size of Pterygoplichthys pardalis. I read in the cat-a-log that its maximum size is 13.8 (inches –SL). Hi all, Hellocatfish, I agree with the filtration on the ecco not being as fast as the classic or the pro, but for the price of 1 classic, I can get 2 ecco's which provide more filtration than 1 classic. Pleco Problems
I once saw 3 snowball plecos for sale in one of the big pet places. They were on sale for $5.99 (a stupid price if I ever saw one). Mats,
Thanks for the suggestion, I don't have a spray bar on the Eheim.
Did you ever try the eheim professional? They are much larger than the comparable classic or ecco, the major issue with the professional is cost. I think for the price of one professional one can get 3 ecco's.

Peckotelia Sabaji and a veil tail ancistrus (have no idea what the scientific mane is)
But I also like Pardalis and plain bushy noses also.
Heck I even like corydoras aneus and octocinclus.
I guess all are my favorite.
