The elegans group
I was browsing through the net and I've noticed people referring to "the elegans group of corydoras". But I had the impression that c. elegans of the elegant cory is only one particular cory, so now I'm confused. Can anybody explain what is meant by the elegans group of corydoras? At the LFS, my ...

Which spotted cory is this?
The LFS said it's c. leucomelas. But I doubt it. Looks more like ambiacus or agassizi or delphax... I'm not really sure which. I've observed that the slightest difference in spot patterns might mean a different species altogether. I find it very hard to tell them apart. Anyone here has a good eye on ...

Looks like finrot. It's very rare among corys because of their "armor" among other things. This makes them more resistant to external bacteria than other fish. Maybe that's why the other corys in the tank did not get infected. But since this particular fish already got infected before, maybe his ...

Ideally, you should keep at least 5 of the same species together. But they will school with other species anyway. I have read that pandas are more delicate than the other species but I have kept 5 of them in a 5 gallon tank with water temp as high as 29 degrees celsius during summertime and I've had ...

A friend of mine was able to raise seventeen panda corydoras fry in a five gallon (yes, just 5 gallons) tank (without taking out the parents- 1 female, 3 males) with a biological sponge filter, a plant, and course white sand for substrate and by feeding them pulverized sinking wafers only (no newly ...
