Re: Peppered Cory Width?
Was the PVC originally for another fish species or did you add it specifically for the Pepper Corys? I tend to agree with the other posters in that Cory's are shoaling fishes and appreciate wood pieces, plants, rocks, etc to relax and move amongst. I've never see any of my Corydoras hiding in a ...

Laser Corydoras Variants?
Just a quick question as I was wondering how many variants of the Lazer Corys are in the hobby. I've heard of green, orange/gold and red.

Here's another shot of the same fish. I'll attempt to capture a top or underside photo.

Identification of Bristlenose
Hi, just wondering if anyone could properly identify these BNs? Also looking to sex the fish in the first photo. Thanks. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/JazzyBJazzy/Aquaria%202013/IMG_3844.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/JazzyBJazzy/Aquaria%202013/IMG_3846.jpg Sent from my iPad ...

Re: L129
I spoke with the hobbyist who bred the fish and these are the parents of the above fish. She mentioned that she had kept the below fish with a pair of L144s and doesn't have any veiltail or brown BN plecos at all. Just wondering what some of you may speculate what occurred. Appreciate the feedback ...

Re: L129
Appreciate the feedback from both of you.
Starting to dive more into plecos but I've noticed that there seems to be a lot more mislabeled fish these days. I've noticed the same thing occurring with the West African dwarf cichlids as well.

Ancistrus sp. - but which one?
Hi all, A friend passed by and gave me a pair of Bristlenose plecos (1m/1f). Can anyone identify the type of BN? http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b43/jays_aquaria/Central%20and%20South%20America/c7cc9efe.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b43/jays_aquaria/Central%20and%20South%20America/ae878fbf ...

Interesting you should recommend that because I was just telling a friend a few days ago that I'd like to try my hand at breeding BN plecos. My only problem is that there are absolutely no BN's available in any LFS at the moment. It looks like I'm going to have to find a breeder or importer myself ...

Hi Oliver, I just visited your website and struggled with the German. What a nice surprise to find that you're from Vienna. I'm from Canada myself but did a stint in Vienna between 2000-2002. I know this is a long shot but do you know Helga Rozzman, another hobbyist living in Vienna and involved ...

Panaque maccus sexing
I believe I have what is a Panaque maccus, see http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12713 , however as a self-confessed pleco newbie I differ to the experts on this forum. I was wondering how difficult it is to breed maccus in an aquarium setting. Does one usually purchase 4-6 ...

Synodontis nigrita size?
Hi all, I've kept a small group of nigrita in a 42 gallon since April of this year and they've grown quite well. My concern is in regards to their adult size. Since the profile lists that they can reach 6.8"+ I would need to find new living quarters for the group or give them to another hobbyist ...

I'm by no means a catfish expert but I was initially leaning towards Panaque maccus but was wondering what you more experienced pleco lovers thought. I did check on the profile for Peckoltia vittata however the picture submissions don't seem to match with the picture I've posted. The Panaque maccus ...

Synodontis ID
I know this is not the best picture, however if you save it to your PC and blow it up you will see the Synodontis catfish behind the Gephyrochromis acei. Just trying to determine the species?

I couldn't help notice that the forum replaces most of the characters in the word C-I-C-H-L-I-D. You guys hate cichlids or are just tired of hearing about them?

Hi there!
Hi all, Catfish aren't the focus of my tanks though they are often found in many of them. I primarily keep East African cichlids, South American Dwarf cichlids and livebearers. I'm particularly found of the Corydoras species, especially the dwarf corys. I keep a solitary Bristlenose pleco and a ...
