im tryinh to find a smaller Rineloricaria like melini. what is usally imported as whiptails and how do you tell them apart? also what are the other small whiptails?

my lfs has whats labeled as tiger plecos. they look like Tiger ''Peckoltia''(Panaque sp. (L002)) but all the pictures here have straight lines on the head. a few of these had spots(or circles) on thier head. anyone have an idea what it is?
