What is the differance between an asain and a south american red tail cat? I know one gets to be bigger then pretty much any tank and should only be kept in public aquariums but what about the other?

I agree also supply him with a good sized piece of driftwood to rasp on.
At the most he may chase a fish out of his way but he wont hurt anything.
Yes feed him well, any tank with catfish needs sinking foods just for them.

What other fish are in the tank seems a 7 inch sailfin wouldnt have many places to go in a 29 gallon so that may be why he is hanging at the top, does he have a cave?

I had a pleco with a white spot on his belly like that and it was from the rough gravel so it could be very possible he scraped it.
I would really put him back and just keep your tank super clean so he doesnt get fungus on that area.
Not sure how big the Q tank is but smaller tanks and much harder ...

yep same algae I had read my post above as it worked well, using the least amount of chemicals in the tank is better unless it is a health issue and the green algae really isnt going to hurt anything though it does need oxygen.

Do you mean you CAN say your panaque is beautiful?? I think it is a very pretty fish which as you said it stays in the middle of the tank which makes it a great tank centerpeice.
by the way your english is very good!

In my opinion it is really your judgement on how much your guys eat, kinda play with it and if you find you are overfeeding remove the extra food.
maybe try 2 algae wafers a night and if you see any leftovers try 1 and 1/2 same with the veggies.

Your best bet is to remove it by hand and do this at the first sign of it, I was given a tank with a major problem with this type of algae in fact they gave me the tank because they couldnt stand it.

bristlenoses lay there eggs underneath something so you may not see the eggs, Im assuming you have a female in the tank.
They are also very good parents and if you notice the female wont guard them as well as the male but she will be close by.
Also check to see if the male is "fanning" the eggs you ...

Its hard to believe I was sold this guy when he was about 2 inches and was assured he would get no bigger then 4 inches and that he was a butterfly pleco.
Of course at the time I didnt know much about plecos as I do now.
He is a big sailfin, not as big as my other but he is getting there.
