I use aquarisol. I forgot to use it this year and my young fungused and died. You are never going to be able to kill all the fungus, it is everywhere.

Get ya some dwarf puffers!! Best snail eradication that I can think of in such a small fish!! Only problem is that you have to remove the empty shells.

Sounds like a bacterial thing to me. I stay away from adding bacteria to a tank when I add new fish. Wait a few days and then add any conditioner with live organisms in it. The best thing to do when adding new fish is not to do anything for a few days. Just my opinion.
