I use red Incadescants alot. It illumintates the tank somewhat and I can watch them from a slight distance. Mine tend to come out during the day and beg for food anyways though.

That was my first guess too after looking through my aqualog book, it was the closest match I could find. He is about 10cm SL and he has maintained the same pattern since he was about 4cm. I have some more pics uploading and waiting for approval, they are a little clearer. Thanx for verifying it for ...

I'll have to borrow my mother's digital camera and get a pic of mine. Mine was sent to me by a distributor as an angelicus. He lacks any spots at all and has the same pattern as the ones shown in the cat-e-log. He is about 6-8 cm now and still maintains the pattern and his dorsal is much larger than ...

Yeah that's an L106. I have one also but its was sold under the name "Orange Seam Pleco". Mine enjoys cucumber slices and various sinking pellets. Even though they aren't as glamourous as some others I think hes kinda cool.

I might have an "atterimus"> Can't be 100% though. I recieved it as an angelicus, but it lacks any spots at all. Any other morpholigical feature I should look at to verify what it is for sure (fin ray count)? Im not familiar with its locality either; but if it is an angelicus it has a really cool ...

I picked up the Multimacultus from "Aquatics" out of the Chicago area. They are real notorious with shipping and indetification of a lot of their fish. But they were a great way to pick up out of the ordinary stuff. I looked up the picture of the "rebeli" syno In the the aqualog atlas and it looks ...

I checked out Syn. Nummifer on this website. Much better pictures than the Aqualog atlas had of Nummifer. Yep thats what they were, I took them back to my store 6 weeks after. They were cool fish and did really well. I was just kinda upset that they were shipped as ornatipinnis.

Yeah thats pretty much what happend to my Syn. multimaculatus a few weeks ago. He Always seemed to gorge himself and be fine. But then in a period of two days blew up like a balloon. I had a raphael do that one time and I lightly pressed on his stomach, and he actually farted I guess you could say ...

Does anybody ever see these guys around? While working for the fish Dept at a pet store I came across some listed for $10 bucks wholesale; I was a little skeptical since I had seen them listed on an internet page at one time for $75. I went ahead and ordered 6 of em but they turned out to be a ...

Yeah I thinks it the one by Darkangel that I read in FAMA. I havent read the FAMA Article by Jim Robinson, must be an older one. Personally Im not to fond of FAMA. I like Aquarium fish Magazine and TFH better. But yeah my angelicus will turn almost ghost white when facing off then resumes normal ...

I might get some ridicule for this but I have 11 angelicus in a 300 gal tub. They behave pretty well and keep to their own flower pots. Every now and then two of the bigger ones will face off or chase a youngster away from his home. I still need to try and sex them but havent gotten around to it ...

Yes, I have that article too. Its in the October 1993 issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist ( The one with the picture of an Aulonocara Jacobfeirbergi "Eureka" on cover. In Lee Finley's "Catfish Corner" he gives some background on various Synos and then describes how a Canadian by the name of Jim Robinson ...

Yeah It was that New Life Spectrum food that got him. Usually I soak my foods but, as always the first time you forget something bad happens. I keep my angelicus in a 300 gal rubbermaid tub. My biggest is about 8 inches (4) and the rest vary form 5-3. I have a few little guys that are growing up in ...

I remember reading that too. I've worked my way up to about a dozen Syn. angelicus. I keep them in a 300 gal rubbermaid tub in hopes of one day spawning them. I found one account in an old TFH mag. An article by Lee Finley cited a spawning by a guy who had angelicus in a tank with African cichlids ...

I saw another new one like that too. They had somthing marked at the lfs called "gold spot upsidedown cat" and it wasnt an angelicus. It looked more like a lancer cat. It had the same whisker config as other syn. but longer like the alberti's. But they were missing the comblike filaments on the ...

Well he passed over the night. :( I opened up his tummy and found and excessive amount of food and gas. Looks like his gluttony did him in. Syn. multimaculatus with bloat

Hi there, does anybody have some suggestions for taking care of Bloat. I have several Syn. that im growing up in a 30 gal tank. Syn. angelicus x2, decorous, multimaculatus and atterimus. All great eaters, no compatibility problems, pH - 6.8, NH3 - 0, Water changes every two days. Problem is the ...
