Re: Breeding L134
Mine started to breed at around three - four years of age. Males seem to mature slower than females from what I have experienced. Make sure that the males don't beat up eachother too bad, I would give them plenty of spaces to hide. The dominant male can really only take out it's agression on one ...

Re: L134 Feeding
I would be careful feeding bloodworms too often, have sadly lost some fish that way. Not saying it's wrong to feed but just be aware of the risks :) On another note I feed my breeding colony Mainly Dr. Bassler and Tropical Hi-protein xxl discs. Works wonders for the adults and keeps the water ...

471 or not?
Hi! I recently bought a group of Hypancistrus sp. l-471 but some of them look like they might be something else. Although it's not always reliable parameter, their patterns and the white dot covering looks off in some individuals. I suspect that the big spotted individual is a l-471 while the small ...

Re: Fry losses
Thanks for your input, I agree on your assessment! I think they will be fine but I just got super worried. I think they will do better in their new tank

Fry losses
Hi I've had a couple of batches of L-134 fry this year and everything has been smooth sailing so far reguarding the growth and health of the fry. However, in a recent batch( approximately 1 month old) I've had 4 fry die within 2 days. They have been kept in a frybox in the main tank with some oak ...

Artificial egg rearing for l-134 fry
Hello people of planet Catfish!
I recently got a small spawn from my l-134, however I pulled the spawn to early and was left with four, two/three day old eggs. I have no previous experience in artificially hatching pleco eggs and would appriciate some advice on general care and housing.

Platydoras Armatulus breeding behaviour?
Hello everyone! This morning I saw my Platydoras Armatulus showing signs of what I interpret as breeding behaviour. Just like Corydoras the males were chasing a female back and forth troughout the aquarium. The males were trying to get underneth the female to push here upwards. I maneged to capture ...
