I have a common male BN I dont know if this helps but he is real shy and mine likes alot of water current. He always hplays in the bubbles and the filteration. hope it helps.

at this fish store called fish r us there was alot in one tank and almost all off them had red fins. so I think that barbie is right.

my brother used melafix and pimafix together andit helped alot . The plec skin was pealing and he was lying on the ground. can anyone Identify this disease.

I switch out with cucumber and zucchini on a clip.every 3 days. but he is always in the back hiding. hope he is ok.

Do common male bushy nose mate with any other plecs like gibbies or commons or rino plecs? just wondering becuase hes been chasing every thing off exept my gibby.

I got one today. Its about 3 1/2 inches long it looks healthy and hass little centimeter bristles on him. Ill put some pics on later. do they like veggies? or any thing like that?

I havnt had any experience with them but I heard that a 4" mustard cactus pl*co killed a 6" common.

I thought it was a female bristlenose but now I think it is a gibby. he does have googly eyes and large spots on his fins. But I realy like bristlenoses. :cry:

I'm sure your royal has picked a spot in the tank. If your common goes near it he will probably get chased off. I think you need to put some cucumber or other fruits or veggies on a clip in the fish tank.

Some bristlenose plecs get up to 5" to 8" long plus a common plec can get up to 3 foot.

I had a 4-lined pictus and he was 6" and my 7" oscar was bitting him and chasing him, once I got back from school and there was a gash in my pictus head. so I recomend you dont get a pictus plus they get diseases real easy.

never mined that it will get beat up they can reach a length of 1 foot 6 inches so dont put no small fish in with it. ok

It will come out at night and hide during the day because catfish are nocturnal (dont like light) they hunt at night. what do you feed it? how big ? I dont think it will try to eat bigger fish because it will probably think it will get beat up.

when the tank broke did it fall on the floor or did anything fall in the tank? you can cut it off and after you cut it off I would get melafix or pimafix and put it in the tank as a medication.

Goldie probably ate the prawn but the cichlids eat vegies and other stuff. My rhino does not eat spirulina disc or other vegies but when I put it in there it is gone I dont know if my 2 commons eat it or my tiger shovelnose?
