That's it! Thanks!
The vendor called it a "bumblebee" catfish, but that name is misleading. We're happy to find out the real name.

Re: "Destination folder not found" message in My Aquaria.
Thanks, Eric. I tried it this morning and, after one unexplained glitch, it took off and has been working fine for me since! I would not have reported it if it had been a one-time issue, but for at least a day and a half the above error message was returned, as I said, no matter from what device ...

This message keeps appearing when I try to update My Aquaria: Destination folder not found (/home/webcat/planetcatfish.com/jpg/_archive/2019/2019-04-10_usr) No matter what field I am updating, whether from phone or PC, the same message appears. Misspellings in My Top Ten Cats.
In the list of Jools' favorite catfish, https://www.planetcatfish.com/general/general.php?article_id=351 "Lamontichthys filamentosus" is spelled incorrectly (i.e., Lamontichthys filametosus.) I discovered this by copying the incorrect text and pasting it into the Catfish Quick Find search bar. No ...

Spelling error in My Aquaria menu.
The problem is in a data entry field of the very excellent site feature, My Aquaria . In the drop-down menu for Feeding (frequency) the word " occasionally " is misspelled this way: occaisionally . The correct spelling is occasionally . I must add that this is one of those words that the more you ...

Hey, Viktor! I'm so glad to hear you are okay, and came out of the storm without too many losses! You weren't too far from where the storm made landfall, were you? Scary. Thanks, Darrel. Sorry for the late acknowledgement - we had two medical crises at my house, so there was no time for Planet Catfish. All is well, now, btw ... Plants in Akysis vespa tank?
Does anyone keep plants in a tank with Akysis vespa ? If so, what sort of plants are working out the best? And what is your planting scheme? That is, do you plant the perimeter of the tank only? Some of my plants have been uprooted by my vespa, but I don't want to give up on plants for this tank. If ...

Re: Bunocephalus coracoideus confirmation
Good! Feeding more often and keeping things cleaner is a good recipe, and probably one that would work with many other species. One question: does cleaning more often mean more water changes or more siphoning of debris? Which seems to be needed more, of the two?

Re: Normal rubberlip anatomy or parasite?... It's a parasite
Eric, I was going to ask how you determined that the white things were a parasite, but after viewing the youtube, it's pretty clear that they are moving and alive. But, are they parasites? Perhaps the creature and the fish are in some sort of symbiotic relationship? Shane used to post a lot about ...

Re: Setting up a new Synodontis tank with Tanganyika cichlids
jd , your proposed tank sounds almost exactly like the tank I have set up in a 56 tall tank. The substrate is ordinary black and white cichlid sand mixed equally with pool filter sand, for a nice mushroom color. I scattered tiny Bursa gravel shells here and there, to mimic the bottom of the Lake. I ...

Of course we're interested! That is a nice job you've done there, I love it. :) It's always good to see how things are done behind the scenes. Thanks for the discussion! (*) For my 6 foot (1.83 m) stand, I'm thinking of using 2x4's under each pair of legs. How to distribute tank weight over floor tiles?
We have just moved to a new house, with all new construction. The room where I plan to keep my fish tanks has a tiled floor, for easy clean-up of any spilled water. Thanks, again, All.
I'd like to try one last time with these two photos of the ventral side; oftentimes for Bunocephalus we are asked to provide a view of the coracoides so that is what I tried to do here.
To me, these bones look rather short.

Re: Which Bunocephalus?
@Martin S, my banjo is much bigger, about 8 cm (80 mm). No, we can't go by coloration at all. They vary a lot among themselves, from chocolate brown to the lightest cafe au lait. Now I'm inclined to go with Bunocephalus doriae mentioned by catfishchaos earlier. The banjo in question came from the ...
