Re: Corys Hugging Surface
Sorry Darrel, missed your last question - yes, it is a planted tank - swords and java ferns.

Re: Corys Hugging Surface
Thanks guys -
I'll try lowering the temp a little and move my water flow intake up to get more surface area exposed for oxygen exchange. I think I'll also move the 3 larger Roseline Sharks to a different tank - very active and use a lot of O2. Every little bit may help.
Thanks again.

Corys Hugging Surface
I have a 50G tank with about 30 assorted tets - rummynose, candy cane, pristellas, and blood fins. I have 6 pepper cats (corydoras paleatus), 3 small albino corys, 3 kuhli loaches and a 2 small plecos. They have all been together for many months - the paleatus have been in that tank a year. All of a ...

Re: Green Algae Eaters
Eric - The A. claro sounds like a good option, I'll give it a try. According to specs they'll stay small enough and should not be territorial with my other cats or tank residents. Hopefully I can find them in my area, probably under the name marble bristlenose. Thanks again for the info and advice ...

Re: Green Algae Eaters
Bekateen and Bas Pels - They are 2 juvenile Ancistrus piriformis (1.5"). They look like they are eating the algae, but as they pass over it, it is still there - no tell-tale tracks. With just the 46G I don't want to get any plecos that will outgrow the tank. As it is I'll have to donate some fish ...

Green Algae Eaters
Hi Folks I have an outbreak of green algae in my 46G tank. Is there any catfish, loach or snail species that I can add to the VERY peaceful community tank that will actually eat the algae? I have live plants and I don't have any snails or "algae eaters." The problem is that I can't get it off my ...

Re: Panda Cory
PH is at ~8.2 and has always been that high. No signs of injury or disease. One day eating and the next demised! Interesting is that two of the three had short tails and the remaining one has a much longer tail than the other two had. I'm sure it means nothing, but it is odd. I put on my 3D red-blue ...

Panda Cory Dying Off
I have multiple cory species (panda, sterbai, gold lined) and red plecos in my community tank. In the last week i lost two pandas out of three. They have all been in the tank at least 4 months. No aggressors. Any idea why all of a sudden the loss???? Here's specs - very consistent at these ratings ...

Newbie Needing Advice and ID of Species
Hi Folks - Newbie to forum, not to fish keeping. I recently got two new cats from the LPS. They were in a plant tank and not labeled - the guy just called them "orphans." The LPS guy couldn't identify them and I have seen way to many that are so close yet have or don't have some of the features (see ...
