Re: African stockists in the UK
Hi. Nice tank. My Trachyglanis unfortunately did not do well. I couldn’t get them feeding well on frozen worms and I lost my them within a couple of months. They were fascinating fish so I was very sad to lose them.

Re: Trachyglanis sanghensis - African Whiptails
How are your settling in? I received a group of 4 yesterday and they have gone into my large congo community aquarium. At least one of them was out for breakfast this morning, so an OK start I think.

Re: African stockists in the UK
How are your trewavasae and Syno contracture doing? Do you have pics you can share yet?
My 'congo' (ish) tank is on the UKAPS forum under the name 'congo swamp monster' if it is of interest. Keen to add some of the Trachyglanis or Belonoglanis that are around.

Re: African stockists in the UK
Please do post pics and let me know what you spot! I have a group of 12 P sp fantastique, 10 P aurantiacus and 8 Enteromius fasciolatus in a 10 foot tank and so have plenty of space for other Congo rarities and a group of small distichodontids would work well - jealous of your trewavasae. Pier is a ...

Re: African stockists in the UK
Abacus Aquatics and Wildwoods have had a bunch of the 'new' congo tetras recently, e.g. Phenacogrammus 'fantastique' and P. aurantiacus and Bathyaethiops. Could be worth asking what they could get hold of. Not seen many cats at either (but haven't looked that hard). There were some Neolebias ...

Re: Disappearing Microsynodontis
I think I still have 4, but it is super hard to tell. Possible that the 5th is still in the tank somewhere. It is now getting quite well grown in and so there is a lot of cover and some leaf litter. They dart around like crazy and feeding time and lay up the rest of the time somewhere dark. My ...

Re: Disappearing Microsynodontis
Thanks all. Sounds like they are acting fairly naturally. I don’t really need to see them - but good to be able to check occassionally that they are OK! There is a decent amount of cover overall but not the kind of density at substrate level that leaf litter will provide. I plan to add leaves at s ...

Disappearing Microsynodontis
I just introduced a group of 5 Microsynodontis sp. to my recently matured 600l tank that will become a Central African community. They only have 6 Otos for company right now and the tank is highly structured. They’ve completely disappeared both during the day and as far as I can tell from torch e ...
