Re: Receiving shipped cories
Yes, there is always the risk. I once netted out an Otocinclus with those cheap nets plecobreeder mentions and it almost ended up in disaster. The oto got one of his dorsal rays stuck in the netting but thankfully he managed to untangle pretty quickly. No damage whatsoever. I would try to aim for ...

Re: Receiving shipped cories
I wonder how many people have been stung by the Corydoras´ dorsal fins when trying to hand catch them... I've been poked a few times, and usually by the pectorals, nor dorsal... but never (yet) deeply and I've never (yet) experienced after-effects. As stated above, (if the fish are docile), hand ...

Re: Deworming Corydoras drug choice
The only thing that can happen if you abuse the use of Metronidazole is kidney failure and subsequent death. I have never heard of it causing reproductive harm tho. As for Praziquantel. I used it once on a group of Corydoras Pygmaeus and I did saw a reduced activity level but it was because of ...

Re: Receiving shipped cories
Some people preffer to drip acclimate fish and then net them out just as others mentioned. By pouring the water into a bucket that has a net on top. Water from the shipping bags is usually dirty so best is just to temp acclimate by floating the bag and just drop them into the tank. I wonder how many ...

Trilineatus/Paleatus temperature question - Is this reality?
I had red the Corydoras Trilineatus profile here on planet catfish a while ago but never thought much about the fact that they can supposedly be kept as "low" as 16 Celsius. The little detail is just starting to pop back again in my head... Is this true? Does anyone here have experience with ...

Re: Live Daphnia for Corydoras
My Corydoras Paleatus/pygmaeus go crazy for live Daphnia. It is the moina strain which is quite small (babies are smaller than brine shrimp) so they just suck them in mass. The daphnia usually congregate in the glass corners so the corydoras just glass surf and easily get them. I dont think they can ...
