Re: Olyra Longicaudata
Why don't you make a small photography tank? It will be quite useful, especially when shooting fish like these. I am away from home traveling right now. I will set up a photography tank when I get back, at around 6.4th. The fish dealer who I got these Olyras from will be receiving a new shipment ...

Re: Olyra Longicaudata
There are two individuals, the first one is tiny, about 5 centimeters, while the one that hides in the cup is about 7. They fight constantly so they are housed separately. Olyra longicaudata typically have very long upper caudal lobes, even at small sizes (I have seen specimens at 1.5 inches TL ...

They are splendid ! Where did you get them ? I search this species but no one sells ... What is the volume of their tank ? What type of scenery ? In China, occasionally rare Indian catfishes come in along with other less interesting species. I keep my two Longicaudatas inside transparent cages ...

Olyra Longicaudata
Tiny fish, 5 centimetres has a cute cup for a hideout. It really lacks the ability to compete for food with the tank's top feeders, so I isolated him. And that makes it easier to take photos.

Re: Pareuchiloglanis macrotrema
If it was collected in Xishuangbanna, it would have to come from the Lancanjiang (upper Mekong River) drainage. Then it is not P. macrotrema , which is known from the Yuanjiang (upper Red River) drainage. Pareuchiloglanis gracilicaudata seems more likely. That is highly possible. The only existent ...

Rita identification Help needed
Need help identifying Rita species. This is an Indian imported WC catfish (region unknown). Definitely a Rita, but its eyes are too small to be the regular Rita Rita. I am wondering if this could be a Rita Macracanthus or some other species. It is currently 3 centimeters long and has a dark purple ...

funny little cross bred sturgeon. I took this photograph of the sturgeon in the catfish tank, but later that day I moved the sturgeon into a smaller tank with a bigger current and a much lower temp, around 16 Celcius. Sturgeons do best in a temp range of 10 to 18 Celcius, and presently I keep my ...

Microphis brachyurus
Fresh water sea dragon from Tai Wan, the adults live in fresh water after they breed in mangroves of brackish waters. It is quite skinny since it is a slow feeder, but these days it's attitude towards food is getting much better.

Panda loaches, adorable little critters. They require a strong and oxygen water current to stay healthy. They are omnivorous, and mine feeds on worms much more than algae and plant matter. They will actually swim towards the worms and jump on them once the worms are dropped into the tank. These are ...

Re: Pareuchiloglanis macrotrema
There are six river drainages in Yunnan that Pareuchiloglanis is known to occur: Irrawaddy, Mekong, Pearl, Red, Salween and Yangtze. @Silurus described a Pareuchiloglanis in 2004, I don't think I've got the paper - but perhaps he could comment on the ID. I agree it's a great looking fish. What water temperature are you keeping it at @Yanger? Cheers, Jools about 21 Celcius. My biggest guess is Macrotrema, however, the species isn ...

Pseudolaguvia shawi
Wild specimen imported from India. It's very small, only about 2 cm, and feeds on live worms.
I've also posted some pictures of it's tank mates, all of them are strange fish, like the freshwater sea dragon Microphis brachyurus, and loaches Protomyzon Pachychilus
