Sailfins get large and Royals do too. They may not enjoy a 72 gallon tank a year from now. Maybe consider a smaller species of pleco to prevent overcrowding. Also, my Royal will chase any pleco that comes near his side of the tank, he does not share nicely at all. There are some pretty smaller sizes ...

I have four L239 in my tank, they are a shy fish and I rarely see but a nose or tail. They seem to enjoy zucchini, bloodworms and krill. I don't see them attacking the spirulina tablets like some of my others, but I rarely see them out much at all. They are darker now that they are in a natural ...

I have never fed silversides to my plecos, all of the frozen foods you are already feeding should suffice, I would think. You would have to make sure and check for leftovers every day so that you wouldn't foul the water unneccessarily.

I have an L95 - about six inches long. It seems to be a tough, shy, big and I hate to say it, but so far fairly ugly pleco. I hear they get orange cheeks someday, I am still waiting for mine to get them.

I have two L27 together in a 6 foot tank and they do fine. They don't chase any fish, they stay away from each other too. One lives in a cave on the far right and the other to the far left. They both have cozy caves that they never leave except to eat some zucchini for dinner. One is 10 inches and ...

I have an L128, he or she is easily 6" long and lives with three L200's, a 5" royal, a 4" L273 Titanic, a bushynose and a 5" L014 and some miscellaneous loaches. My L128 is not aggressive at all, not even to the smaller L200's (approx 4"). The L200's are the tank bullies, they chase everyone ...

I am almost positive they are not a loach of any sort. I believe they are actually Stingrays. The photo is the same as a stingray, the seller was mistaken, I think.

MelaFix is a teriffic thing, but I do not think it is going to solve your problem. If your water parameters are fine, they have an infection of some sort. I would do some reading on different infections and possibly try to treat the tank with something with a little more power than MelaFix. There is ...

Hmmm, good question. I am not sure, the plecos that I keep with my Raphael are larger and do not bother with himl, nor he with them. Actually, my P.C. doesn't bother with hardly anything at all (very lazy). I have a bristlenose with him and it eats lots of algae. The bristlenose is full grown (4-5 ...

While your six clown loaches don't mind hanging out together, multiple plecos often do! You would need to create more comfortable hiding places for your plecos. I have three L200's and an L91 together and not one of them tolerates the other in his territory! They all have designated resting places ...

They enjoy zucchini too. My common will devour half of a zucchini in a night! Boil it for about a minute, cut in two, rubberband it to a rock or sink it somehow and it will eat it. If yours is little, it may take him a little while to figure it out. Mine is huge and has been raised on zucchini ...

What is your reasoning for not using undergravel filters? They provide both mechanical and biological filtration. I've never tried to breed my fish, when they do breed it is purely on their own.

Harley,

If you bought all three maccus from the same place/tank perhaps they were all sick to start with. Plecoguy is right, it is important to observe all of the fish before you buy, just in case.

I think your L114 will do fine with a royal. I have a small L114 - about 4-1/2" and he is not so bossy yet, of course the royal is much larger than he is. As long as there is a nice cave for everyone, they will usually develop a pecking order and pick a cave. They must get aggressive when larger as ...

I didn't even think about diet, thank you! If I were to put the yellow/gold colored Titanic in my tank, it would probably get darker because my tank substrate is darker and perhaps turn red because of the diet I provide my fish. It would be interesting if it stayed yellow. I don't have the space for ...
