I sure hope you get it all sorted out. eSha Exit is what is recommended in my neck of the woods for ich, combined with eSha 2000.
If it's any comfort you and your pets are in my thoughts - which is a direct danish translation, not sure if it carries to english

Re: Is there a way to "decontaminate" Ich-exposed plants?
I am sorry to read about all this, but it leads me to a question regarding where you obtain your new fish? I rarely buy in shops, almost anything I obtain is from private breeders. If I get anything from a shop I always observe all the tanks, looking for dead fish, and inquire whether they QT their ...

Re: Questions about Co2 addition in a planted ABN colony tank
If you use something like this: http://www.co2supermarket.co.uk/complete-co2-system-for-planted-aquarium-tanks-up-to-500l-p315.html The dropchecker gives you an easy to read "meter", where you can spot if you are adding too much co2 you could easily add a timer watch, thus ensuring you only add co2 ...

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
I am getting nervous already, I mean I've counted 21 fry, but shining a light into the cave I am seeing fry in there still, so I am looking at 30ish fry. I haven't got the space for that, especially not with them going at it every 4th or so week. Anyone living near the copenhagen area of denmark ...

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
Just a little update - I am feeding with algae wafers, after lights out. Shrimp pellets, flakes and cichlid pellets during daytime. At the time I've counted 21 individual fry, but most of the times they are still hiding in the cave were dad raised them. Here's a pic of mum: IMG_0608.JPG Mum trying ...

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
I've heard/read about a fish trap where you cut the top of a soda bottle, and invert it, so that the top forms a funnel with food for the fry, but with my cory's this might prove a problem, since they're small enough to swim inside a trap like that. I'll cross that bridge later, right now I am ...

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
True, very true! I have bottom covered by cryptocoryne wendtii, most of the side "forrested" by vallisneria spiralis tiger, the cave BN dad chose is placed here. I have a few Cryptocoryne aponogetifolia, aponogeton longiplumulosus and Echinodorus bleheri. I also have a few smaller versions of the ...

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
As of this morning, dad still had the cave, didn't seem to be fanning much though. I am hoping for 1 to make it, anymore could actually turn out to be a problem ;)

I'll do that, I also added some cucumbers on a fork close to the cave. Thanks a lot, it's always exciting getting fry from a new type of fish

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
Waiting is over - got home from work, and I don't know if dad let one out, or it got away, but I had a single fry sitting on the front glass. About a centimeter in length, no yoke, so you're probably right, dad might be overdoing his protection a bit. Should I gently move him out of the cave, or ...

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
He's still fannning, now it's been 16 days, so I am guessing he feels this is a hostile environment. I opted for not disturbing/not moving anything, and letting nature go it's own way this time. According to what I read, once they start breeding it's hard to stop them again. I do have a few spare ...

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
Thanks for the reply. I am not certain if he is a first time dad, I got him at the age he is, and only way for me to measure that is by his length, which is about 10cm, so a little less than 4" I must admit, I was quite surprised with regards to the breeding, as I stated, I've had him for 11 days ...

Re: Ancistrus fry in community tank
I know I am resurrecting a very old thread, but I am brand new to catfish in general, and especially breeding them. Sunday, 1½ week ago I aquired a male ancistrus sp. for my lonely female ancistrus. I put him into the community tank the same day, and in the evening he was guarding eggs in a tube, so ...
