What's the correct name for this common fish (pics)

I've always seen them referred to as Peppermint Bristlenose. Online I found many people calling ancistrus hoplogenys but now looking at the forum I have seen pictures of a. hoplogenys that look nothing like these guys. So can someone tell me what is the actual name of this species, and does it have ...

Oh well. I'm happy to say the two survivors have made a complete recovery and are doing everything little peppermints should, even getting bold enough to come out and scavenge during the day while I am right next to their tank.

The two that survived are now looking healthy and hiding under the driftwood. Could it have been that they simply got too cold in transport? They were delivered by the breeder and came in a fast food container. It is winter here now.

Thanks it's very generous of you! But all things like that are prohibited by customs, nothing living can be imported into Australia without a lot of paperwork and quarantine time.

I have some brine shrimp hatching - here's one of my little guys after a hearty meal of it:

Tanks are small - one 18x8x8" (bristlenose) and one 14x14x9" (cory parents and tetras). The fry keeper is a floating 6x4x4" container with three mesh sides. Obviously the tetras would be moved to the tank without the fry.

Yes they are just plain bronze, my first two Corys ever. I was amazed the first time I found eggs in the tank, had no idea my pair were male and female. I have eight fry from the first spawning that are growing in a floating fry keeper now. Am currently learning all about microworms and brine shrimp.

Cory fry in a tank with bristlenose?

Hi all. I have a couple of questions about c. aeneas fry and when I can move them into the larger tank. I have eight living in a fry keeper but need to go away for three nights so I am wondering how to keep them safe. Right now the fry are 6mm long and are just starting to eat brine shrimp.

Though some might find this interesting:

1.8M 29 seconds long

Caught this by chance this morning. This is the second spawning in 8 days.
