Yes but many times the catfish would get the eggs in the night depending on where they laid them. Other times they were successful

They are very active and may freak out easily spooked species but at the same time if you have caves or pots, they do a lot of their activity going round and round inside pots and bouncing between them. So I don't foresee any issues.

I've kept Wild Microsynodontis imported as polli but appeared to be most likely just the sp. 1 undescribeds. They lived very well among Nanochromis transvestitus.

You'll be fine, I have kept lucipinnis in fry tanks at time when I've had extras that didn't have a permanent home at the time and never have an issue with them eating the small fry. They don't act like some of the larger and more predatory synos.
