Long time no see - and a restock
Its been so long since I logged in D:. I have been kinda busy-tests and preparations and stuff. Anyway, I am gonna restock my tank, the otos aren't doing a good job on algae. Still loads of the stuff left. So, what would be a good idea for stock? The shrimplet survival is low do to competition with ...

Re: Thumbrule to stocking?
Thanks for the input. I have reduced feeding and did a 25% WC, and the cories reemerged! Though it was a cool water change, they do not show much spawning behaviour.

Re: Thumbrule to stocking?
I didnt understand half the stuff that was said, but the reason I asked, is because I've been seeing less of my pygmies after i addded the otos. It is good to see that my tank stock isnt overstocked, but I thought it was beacause the tank was over stocked-apparently not-so why?

The sixray cory is noticably dwarved Aspidoras spilotus! I never knew aspidoras were such fun and diverse genera!

Re: Planaria eating, but shrimp friendly fish?
Jobro, these planarias are about 0.6cm, and they seem to have disappeared when i increased feeding and stock-maybe due the the aquarium being more established and ready to handle organic waste, or maybe because I added more moss(thought here was a ton already-I <3 moss)?

Re: Planaria eating, but shrimp friendly fish?
Jobra, yes i am talking about those-and since pygmy cories where introduced, planaria numbers have gone down. this is due to: 1. Predatation 2. Pygmy cories scaring them into hiding by foraging 3. Lack of leftovers thanks to the foraging cories. And gulgulo, im sorry to say scarlet badis will hunt ...

Liobagrus Andersoni Project?
I took an interest in Korean catfishes even more recently, and decided for a project. The species that I can purchase, and isnt OVERLY big is the Liobagrus Andersoni. I have seen wild specimen while night fishing in mountain streams, and is aware of its need for HIGH oxygenation. I personally think ...

I watched Ivan Mikolji's videos and that shot on the wild P.Nigrilineatus(Royal Pleco) was pretty cool, and the footage of wild apistogramma breedig behaviour.

I feel rather small compared to all of your grand tanks. I only have 1 14.6 gallon, 1 6 gallon and 2 5 gallon tanks. Plus most species of non cory catfish (except like common ones) cannot be found here. But, still i have to remember Im only 13!

Re: Anyone been stung by a venomous catfish?
Been pricked by corydoras, but as others said not in the same league. And also, Ive seen some people stabbed by some nasty native catfish spines(Liobagrus.sp) while fishing! The genera Liobagrus is definitely an interesting genera-on my wish list in fact. Well it got a bit too interesting for the ...

Re: Can anybody ID this plant please?
I never knew that was bladderwort. Wow I had tons of that stuff(the origin is mysterious) and never realised!!! My one is darker colored, but I guess its just species difference, not different type. Well, Im glad i have it and Im glad its safe with fry and small shrimplets. I used it for neon tetra ...
