Re: Imported as C. eques, but they aren't...
I have a very pale sand substrate, sort of like a broken white. Although in hindsight, I think regular pale brown sand would make the albino's pop out more than they do in my tank atm. Then both the albinos and blacks would really jump out at you I think.

Ancistrus cyrrhosus and it's morphs
I was wondering about the genetics of colour mophs found in BN's. I know of these morphs: albino, red, calico & piebald (look very similar to me, if anyone can explain the difference please do), amelanistic (l144) and veiltail . I'm going to assume most of these are recessive but if anybody could ...

The little one looks like Nigrolineatus to me (I'm no expert), but I'm sure Jools can tell what it is with a lot more certainty

Re: Help with ID please.
I haven't seen pygmy cories with this exact coloration or orange on the fins, but they are variable in appearance. It depends on where they were caught in the wild. Certain population can have a slightly different appearence than the norm, but that doesn't make them a seperate species. Anyway that's ...

Jools, could the top specimen maybe be Pseudacanthicus Serratus? I saw a preserved specimen in the Aquarium Museum in Liège, Belgium that looked similar to the one in the top photo. Atleast the spines along the body appear very similar to me

I think this might be a brochis species, but not sure though. Also, maybe she is gravid? Then again I haven't seen one with such a huge belly.

Judging from the shape of the snout I would say Silurus seems to be right. Take in mind I'm not an expert though, unlike some of the other members.

What's this corydoras species?
They were sold to me as 'black venezuela' and I was told that it wasn't sure if it was a new species or a colour mutation of an already known one. I was hoping somebody here could give me some more insight on this.
Thanks in advance!
