Not sure what the price will be (have not heard back from the collector). Once I know what they want I should be able to ballpark the price, but overhead changes from order to order, and I never know the final until the fish are tanked.

A have a shot at some Cephalosilurus apurensis on my next Colombia order (middle of September). Not sure of the cost yet. Is anyone interested in this species? Not something I want to house and feed if there is no interest.

This is the order placed while I was there, and there are going to be some interesting catfish coming up in it. 5% off all invoices for using the PlanetCatfish code: YMAAR2HY An additional ...

Almost all the cory cats are on sale in the stock shop this weekend. Please take a look. I have a lot of fish in stock right now. Sales run from Thursdays to the following Wednesday, and then they change, so you have a few days left until the cories go back to the regular price. Lots of interesting ...

Hi Jools,
You are the second person to suggest A. acsi, but we have posted a lot of more detailed pics over on FaceBook and the brain trust has been stumped. It is a very neat little fish though.

Thanks Randy for starting this conversation... A few clarifications: The room rate is $89/night and includes a hot breakfast. There is also a free shuttle between the airport and hotel (very short ride), for anyone flying in for the event. Demand determines room block, so when we launch the ...

Re: Canero black?
A couple observations on this fish having had them for a couple days. They aggregate together strongly, even in a relatively large tank (30 breeder). They group together in a ball under a piece of wood. They do not sit still when disturbed, so getting a shot in the tank they are in proved impossible ...

Thank you.... Marc... with all due respect... I am fully aware that fish cannot read, and that most of us are 'arm chair ichthyologists' having some fun with fish that we get sporadic access to. Range data on many fish in the world is woefully incomplete. I have personally collected fish species a ...

Doubtful that D is T. gyrina... these fish came from Peru, and the PlanetCatfish profile described distribution as being Suriname....?
T. galaxias also appears to come from much further north and east.

Re: Repashy Superfoods for fish
I have had some feedback on using Repashy to medicate. The trick is to add the medications when the food has cooled enough to not negatively affect the medication. Metro is pretty heat tolerant, so it can go in after the mix has only cooled slightly. Antibiotics are less heat tolerant, so what users ...

Be careful... I sent a box to Australia that was stopped, confiscated and destroyed. I know that Allen is working on getting a legitimate importer established there. I have sent food to Europe without any problems.

Re: Repashy Superfoods for fish
I mix up 1 oz or so at a time and store it in the fridge. It is good for two weeks or so, but it only takes me a few days to feed it all. If you are mixing very small amounts, it works better to mix the powder with cold water and then heat it until boiling in a microwave. Use a container that has ...

Re: Corydoras caudimaculatus spawning video
I have at least 100 fry that are now eating. Small fry compared to C. duplicareus. I have received some advice to keep them in RO water and very acid. Currently they are still in their hatching cup (a liter beaker with a bubbler). I use RO water and put a layer of long-fiber sphagnum moss for them ...

Re: Repashy Superfoods for fish
Shane.... I have not noticed a horrible odor, but I mix it differently than the directions on the package (which tell you to mix it while the water is cold and microwave it until it boils). I put the powder in a bowl and then ad boiling water to it while whisking. Standing over it I do not get a ...

Most underrated... I will give a shout to . How many people have this species as their first catfish, first cory cat and first catfish spawn?
On a side not... how do you get the species name to become a link to an image?
