conversions from liter to US gallons
Would it be possible to have a conversion calculator added to this site? As I have not memorized the formulas, and probably never will, it is disconcerting to have to go somewhere else to convert tank sizes while reading the articles and posts. It is also an imposition to ask a poster to convert if ...

Feeding my pl*cos
While reading posts and articles here about feeding, I decided to try an experiment with different the types of foods. I have lasiancistrus sp. from Peru, LDA01, bristlenose from Venezuela, (thanks Shane), L204, L129, L201 and an assortment of other single species from Peru. Normally I feed them ...

Thanks Jools. My inquiry would be as simple as what country the animal is found. Further information about what river system it comes from to determine its care is for discussion within the forum. For example, as I peruse the new fish in the update column or the Cat-e-log, there will be a picture ...

My method of changing water: I use one python to remove the water from the tanks. Roll it up and put it away. Lately I have been putting water with bleach in a bucket and siphoning that through and then another bucket of dechlorinator before I put it away. Then I use a second python attached to a ...

The spots don't cover the body. When it's eating or chasing the other plecos it gets a mottled pattern along the length of it's back. As you can see it eats cucumber, but when I put frozen bloodworms or blackworms in the tank it goes nuts and chases the other fish away. I have to make a photo tank ...

In my humble opinion... There are a lot of us who are blessed with the insite to see that humankind's progression will eneviatably destroy the multitude of nature's creatures that we find dear and fascinate us. As America's history shows evident, the desimation of many animal species, and peoples ...

Marc van Arc, the fish displayed areas of white slime, circular in configuration on their bodies. The fins had white areas that were flat; not like the puffy fungus. Some of them had red areas on the top of the gill plate, breathing fast....generally lathargic. Although at times they would swim in ...

Could someone point me in the direction where I could find out more information about bacterial infections that affect Corydoras?

Does one sex this species in the typical corydoras fashion; with the female being larger than the male? Will the fish form their own pair bond? Or can you just put a male and female together to get a pair? I have about 20 of them and I would like to get rid of them in pairs. Well I had 20 as of last ...

If you don't know what they are, how do you feed them?
My dream of finally importing fish was recently shattered when I was received six boxes of fish that contained only some of the species that were on my list . Beyond the fact that I am royally PO'ed, I have at least 3 species of plecos that I don't have a clue of what they are or how to feed them ...

Would it be possible to list the catfish species by the country from which they originate in the catalog pull down? A lot of the species don't have much or any information at all. The most basic information that is the most valuable to me is from what country a fish comes from and how big it will ...
