Problems with browsing CotM pages

Hi,
Was trying to do some reading up on the species profiles on CotM but realised a lot of the links don't work for me. For example, my search on the entry on Corydoras atropersonatus (Apr 1998), led to this message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=' in /home/.heathcote/webcat ...

I think what Yann and Heok Hee meant is when you use cf. and aff. , there's no need for a "sp." in front.

So "Corydoras sp. cf. burgessi "should just be "Corydoras cf. burgessi"

Cheers

Jools, the one in the catalog is a different fish from the one I posted in the thread highlighted by Yann. Both Nannoptopoma sp. can be found in the same thread.

The one Waldo posted has stripes on the head which runs parallel to the body. The one you posted as Otocinclus. 2 is clear of markings ...

I discovered that they are excellent mid-water swimmers and often school around, always foraging amongst leaves of plants for food. Mine readily take dry food so feeding shouldn't be much of a problem.

I've not bred them so I can't say much. I myself am trying to breed my brood of 12 to spawn ...

your tank condition seems ideal for them. with good feeding and stabilisation, they should show the iridescent reticulated marking on the body for the males.

You can easily roll them off the tank glass with your index finger as Corydoras eggs have an adhesive coating which allows them to stick themselves onto the tank glass or silicone sealant in the first place.

Good luck!!!

Having kept another Peruvian Nannoptopoma sp. before, I'm inclined to think that they are a Nannoptopoma sp. rather than an Otocinclus sp.

Here's a picture of the other Nannoptopoma sp.

Would it be possible to get a close-up picture of the lateral line pores, and of the plates on the belly?

I'm thinking this might be an (undescribed) Otocinclus .

no no no... they were seperately imported. The Nannoptopoma were imported about a month back whilst P. maculicauda came in only 2 weeks back. From two different suppliers in Taiwan. I happen to quarantine them together in the same tank. Sorry for the confusion.

I think there is a conflict with what you want. Most pl*co favour places where they can hid out of sigh without being seen. You'll have to weight what you want more. To be able to see the pl*co all the times or for the pl*co to be confortable. You can't have both.

For a 5-ft tank, you might want to try out the latest Eheim Pro III 2080 which was just launched very recently in Singapore. Corydoras ID

Got this fella from a shipment that came as Corydoras sp. "high fin", which is a pointed snout species. Hmm... Ian, that's an interesting observation.

It does seem to fit Nijssen's original description for being "closely related to the sympatric C. trilineatus but lacking in the zig-zag line at the junctiure of the dorsolateral and ventrolateral scutes. "
