Re: Breeding Doradids
I agree with racoll and Jools, this species of water movement is not needed, their construction and appearance indicate even that love the water slowly flowing or standing. More important to stimulate spawning is feeding. Best high amine levels, food, earthworms, Enchytraeus grindal worms, Tubifex ...

Re: The South-American Knifefishes thread
There is not very much information on this group, which is scientifically known as Gymnotiformes. According to Silurus (HH), only one book on them has ever been published (Electric Fishes of the Continental Waters of America, Mago-Leccia, 1994). Googling for images of S-Am Knifefishes results in an ...

Re: upside down catfish won't eat.
10 gallon? For so a sum is probably some joke. What Synodontis is or Mystus leucophasis?
It's no wonder that he doesn't want the food, such fish is carnivorous. They should get meat frozen foods for fish. Or living e.g. earthworms.

Re: Breeding Doradids
At propagating fish being found in soft waters parameters are most significant including the hardness and the pH. hardly anyone is rearing it fish in the water for hardnesses 1 - 3. And keeping in the too high hardness causes impairment of genital organs. From here very much he/she rarely reaches ...

Re: Pictus cats with Red Tail Shark?
From the Tail a Shark of the roadstead is Epalzeorhynchos bicolor? In my opinion too small aquarium on pictus, which electricity of water likes it, how water is flowing by the bottom. Apart from that a minimum quantity is 6 pieces. However Epalzeorhynchos likes the stagnant water, so are already ...

And in my opinion it is Mystus. More precisely Mystus malabaricus. The bent dark belt is attesting to it above a pectoral fin and the triangular stain on the caudal hard core, apart from that fits the face.

Re: What sort of 'Giant Oto' is this?
The face from the bottom looks like the pear a bit, resembles to me nothing known. I on your place would be pleased, you have something unknown. I am doubting that somebody here identifies the one species.

Re: What sort of 'Giant Oto' is this?
At such an identification it isn't possible to be influenced by belts or lines, independently whether black or red. The Hypoptoma kind has a wide caudal hard core. From the side appearance the most he is reminding Oxyropsis which thinner caudal hard core he also has. However the shape of the face ...

I bought that mysterious and interesting fish as a Cetopsis but it's a Denticetopsis.
Now my question.
Is it Denticetopsis praecox or Denticetopsis seducta ?
