Re: L134 Leopard frogs
If I remember correctly only the alpha male gets fully hairy and suppresses the hairgrowth of the other males, as in panaqolus species? Maybe the experts can give a conclusive answer?

Re: What is the mysterious blue and red tail in the background?
I agree with Bekateen, it looks very much like a young P. Schaeferi L203. The one's swimming here are about 4'' and have those coloured tails. The markings on the body are however variable I noticed.

Re: L027 damaged its tail fin
Hi Bas,
Do you mean the part where the caudal fin rays start (on the fish' side)? In general that parts of fins and tails won't grow back I thought?

Wow, congratulations, that's a milestone! May I ask how your setup is/was? I understand L397 are a lot more demanding than for example L204?

Re: some L ID
What size is your fish, something like 3''? In that case the size and roundness of spots would match L. Galaxias L029

Re: Rio Xingu, a few pictures
Absolutely stunning! Makes me sad this beautiful area is being destroyed as we speak. Does anyone know if the Volta Grande is already permanently closed or is there still a little bit of current?

Could also be (Hemiancistrus/Ancistomus) L147? I would say a female too. Nice fish!
