Hi Phil
There are indeed some of hobbyists in Singapore who are now more into the identification of royal based on the type locality.
Have to thank a few of the moderators in Plecofanatics in assisting me to ID this fella.

Hi It appears that another differentiating factor between the two would be based on the black spotted blotches found in the caudal fins. In the case of P. leopardus the spots extend backwards from the caudal penucle towards the base of the caudal fins. Whereas for the L114 such spots actually extend ...
