I absolutely love their names! The crays, betta, cichlids, algae eaters, goldfish, etc., are gorgeous, the frogs adorable, and Optimus...so handsome! He looks just like my old Alan.

Re: Happy Year of the Goat
I love [Wood] Sheep people (or Goat/Ram people! I've always said Sheep. But they're all similar enough to be the same sign.) Perhaps that's because I'm a Fire Rabbit--with a Dragon ascendant, and a Sheep-ruled month! Actually, there are people who call the Rabbit/Hare the Year of the Cat instead ...

Holy cow; a month ago that poor little thing looked so close to dead, but he's hung in there and come really far...and in that last shot he looks as if he's super-happy and smiling, and grateful to you for saving his life! What a trooper. ;u;

Interesting combination; it's kinda like a crossbred dog whose very distinct parent breeds are both evident. I've never seen such a hybrid before.

Re: Dark Gray / Gray "Common" Pleco?
^^ I always went for some of the unique decorations, too. Like a Squidward house! :character-spongebobdance: Or the big Barnacle Bar--the plecos would actually rest on the seats as if they were patrons, the largest one liked to perch on top of it, and the Pictus cat hid behind it for most of the day ...

Crikey! (Dang, that makes me miss Steve Irwin...) Even if there's no shopping or anything, meeting adorable giant fishies (and then letting them go on their way) would be enough of an attraction for me.

I was going to say, he looks a lot like 3 of my 4 old much-beloved plecos, who were Pterygoplichthys (or Liposarcus) pardalis. I used to think they were Gibbys, but then corrected myself.

Hi there, Andres. :) Just want to say that I think what you're doing is awesome. LOL, that's great; she sounds just like me! I would always name every fish (well, we did have a school of neon tetras called Fred 1, Fred 2, etc.), based mainly on appearance, and give them voices based on their personalities.

That looks awesome, and I love the Squidward house! I have the exact same one, which used to be a betta's hangout. ^u^
I do still wish our old tank of the same size had been horizontal instead of vertical, but that's what my folks had figured would fit best.

It is so...beautiful... :romance-hearteyes: I love how they all look like good friends, despite being kinda like Great Danes and Chihuahuas in size. YES! :-BD I looked up "plush pleco" because I knew there had to be one, and sure enough the Green Pleco guys came up. I got one of the black-and-whites, and have been bringing little Rex almost everywhere with me. (That's him in my avatar, riding inside my purse in an elevator.) Now I CAN hug a ...

Re: When you need a friend
*dies of cute* Indeed not. I've always thought they looked so huggable. *cuddles plushie* When I was younger I had conceived of a plan to use walking catfish to breed fishes who can live on land for extended periods, so they could be more like other pets (I'd gotten the sense that some of mine were ...

Blue-eyed breeding...?
Well, here's probably a dumb question. :text-imnewhere: It recently came to my attention that the blue-eyed pleco (Panaque suttoni or suttonorum) has for some years now been an extremely rare, expensive species, at one point thought to be extinct in the wild. Reading two old threads about them here ...
