I'm not entirely sure but I would say female for how wide the body is and my males have pretty hairy pectoral fins!

Re: Health issue with a non catfish species
Hi, I once had a similar problem with a Heros cichlid. At first it looked like an inflammation on the fin but it was a tumor-like tissue. It didn't go away but the fish didn't show any problems with that for a long time. About a half year after it occured the tumor spread within the body showing ...

Re: L027 damaged its tail fin
Hi, it's not where it starts (on the fish side) but half way in the direction of the tail tip. Too bad if it doesn't grow back :(.. It may don't lose hope.... I had a pleco that swam up into my hob filter and was there for a week almost ... When I found it, he was sitting on top of the media bag ...

Re: Health issue with a non catfish species
Hmmm well I was planing on usuing parazi pro or wormer plus next after I get the pop eye to heal ..... Kinda hard to treat a problem when the other problem creates an issue where water has to be crystal clear ... So when the eye is pretty well healed I will go back to treating the sore .... Or ...

Re: Health issue with a non catfish species
What do you mean: "it moved onto the left fin"? Did you actually see it move? If it is an ectoparasite you might want to consider "Clout". my 2¢ No there's no movement just seems like whatever was on the side decided to start growing on the fin and still leave the one red sore ... They look like ...

Re: Using deep gravel and bacteria to control nitrogen
Let me just say that your LFS owner has some ideas that run counter to science. Deep Gravel: What he is really talking about here is aerobic versus anaerobic filtration. Anaerobic filtration has generally fallen out of favor in the hobby, but it can work, especially in marine aquariums (Google the ...

Re: Entertain Your Fishy Friends!
Makes sense to me. If an *enriched environment* produces better mammalian offspring there's no reason why it wouldn't also benefit fish. Very minor experiment - everybody's always saying don't tap on the tank, you'll scare the fish - I trained the Rainbowfish that tapping on the glass meant they ...

If they are all twitching and darting around I'm assuming that are itchy from like you said ick.... This is the most common problem... Salt can help but slower ..as well as turn the heat up a little for about 2 weeks .. If your too late and there's spots everywhere I would recommend super ick cure ...

Re: Good news everybody!
This could be all be chalked up to some misidentification and a misunderstanding except... http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=40317 Seems to me you (JuiceyFish) passed off the fish that were identified to you as Panaqolous maccus back in April, as L306 to someone else. You were ...

Not satisfied with recent Id....
I recently been posting pics on a few forms and getting so many all over the place guesses and I believe I had the pleco on here sometime ago but I'm asking for a re-id.... I'm leaning toward a L401 but everyone seems to say L066 which it isn't because I have 6 other L066 that don't look anything ...
