Verify this is a channel catfish.
I am almost certain this is the type of channel cat we have in our local lakes. I would just like your opinions. One pic makes them look blue, but they are actually more grey as shown in the first pic. They are also developing new spots. Thanks http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v333/SimonW/channel1 ...

Silurus, Wow, that is fast. coelacanth, One is around 5" and the other is around 4". Usually around November the water temp. starts dropping a lot, and then around March is starts going back up to a reasonable temp. So that would be right around 6 months from now, I think. They are in a 55 gallon ...

Channel cat growth question.
At about what size do channels begin to slow down growing?
I need to know so I can decide whether I should put one of them in a pond before winter or if I can wait and put it in during the spring. I don't want them to both be a foot long in my tank because I can't put them outside.
Thanks

One more channel cat question.
I just now remembered this and forgot to put it in the other thread. How do channels like current? My filter puts out a lot of current in my tank, but I have it turned down slightly. Turning it down seems to have made them a little less active. With messy cats, the more filtration, the better...so I ...

quick ? about channel cats.
I have two channels that I am keeping until they are too large for my tank...then they will go into a pond. Something I noticed about them that I haven't noticed on the adults I have caught in lakes and rivers is that they both have a small black spot on their left side just below their dorsal fin ...

Another bumblebee cat question.
Turns out that the Bumblebee that the fish store had was the smaller species that has more yellow, which was still a cool fish. One store did say they could get the one I was looking for, but told me that it was highly aggressive. I don't know if she meant it would eat anything small enough to fit ...

I presume that by a 8" bumblebee, you mean Batrochoglanis raninus . Well, the thing about that is from what I understand two catfish are commonly called bumblebee cats in fish stores. One being that kind, and one only getting around 4". I am hoping it is Batrochoglanis raninus. Does anyone know how ...

Pictus and Bumble Bee Cat questions.
Hey, I have known about this site for a while, but just now got a tank large enough for a cat tank. I am wanting to go 1 of 2 ways...so far. 1. Getting 4 or 5 Pictus. 2. Getting 1 Bumble Bee. First of all, the bumble bee gets around 8" when fully grown (i think). Do you think it will eat my dwarf ...
