Hi,
A LFS of mine have recently got some young Ancistrus Rio Paraguay. I have saw these before via certain groups etc and find them really interesting.
My question is, are there any disadvantages to purchasing one of these, when I already have two, mature male Claro in my tank?
Is one more ...

Re: Filtration for 55l
I currently have two sponge filters in my Nano Cube and will definitely use one in the Scaper's tank. I'd just like a little internal for flow and to also help pick up a little more waste in the tank.

Filtration for 55l
I have a Dennerle Scaper's 55l tank which I will be using as an Ancistrus Claro tank. I plan on using a sponge filter as well as a small internal filter as my filtration to work alongside regular water changes.
I will also be planting the tank with mosses and plants which will grow on rocks/wood ...

Re: Ancistrus Claro LDA08 gender identification
Here is the best I could get. The one on the right in the first picture is the one who I think may be a female and the one on the bottom left in the second photo.

I'll do my best and try later during their water change.
Would the best way of doing it be to put them into a Tupperware tub with tank water?

Ancistrus Claro LDA08 gender identification
I have 3 Claro at the moment and I am 95% certain that I have 3 males, but due to the size and 'lack' of bristles in comparison to the other two makes me think (more hope) that this could be female.
Does it have too many bristles around its mouth and on the snout?

Female Ancistrus Claro LDA08
Hi,
As the subject says - if anyone within an hour to hour and half drive from Staffordshire has any female Ancistrus Claro which they would sell I would be very appreciative. I brought what I believed to be two breeding pairs back in approx. 2013 and once mature ended up with 3 males and 1 female ...

LDA008 Ancistrus Claro
My LDA008 have bred twice recently and I now have 2 lots of juvenile fry. The first batch were born around December 2016 with the most recent coming in the last few weeks (May/June 2017).
The first spawn I only noticed 3 free swimming fry and still have all 3 which are growing nicely. The second ...

Re: My first Ancistrus Claro spawn
Just picked up this thread, congratulations on your first spawn! The little guys seem to be growing well. I'll be sure to keep an eye on this thread to see how they progress.

Re: Ancistrus Claro
We've some broccoli in the fridge. I'll give it a go. How long do you cook it for. So it's soft or still quite hard? I've also added peas without much success, my Amano's finished those off. Again, my common Bristlenose would go mad for these.
Stomachs don't look small or sunken though, so they ...

Ancistrus Claro
Hi all. This is my first post, but I have been on the site quite a few times since being informed on PFK forum.
I just thought I'd share my recent purchases. I acquired two pairs of Ancistrus Claro from Pier Aquatics, who seem to be settling in well. The only thing is since I got them home on ...
