Lda 016

Hi, Help wanted please. Just picked up a couple of LDA16's. As they are not listed on the Cat-o-log page for Planet Catfish, does anyone have some information about these colourful guys. I didn't pay much for them so it's not a case of worrying if I've been conned, would just like to know the usual ...

Thanks for that.
Problem like you say is, it one thing deciding on the fish you want, then it's trying to find them.

Seem good choice as well, there's only mainly Oto's and peaceful barbs in the tank at present.

Pleco's and Snails

Quick question for you all, (and save me ploughing through the Cat-elog).

What's a good pleco for quoffing snails?

It's to go in a 40 gallon tank so preferably a species of no more than 4 to 5 inches.

Thanks

Ian

L002 - Tiger Panaque

I would welcome any advice on these 'cats'. I have just had it ID'ed on the other website page (Thank you 'Wood' for the ID) but there is not a lot of information on the Cat-elog page. So any info on diet, temperature, compatability etc would be appreciated. At present I alternate cucumber, peas and ...

British Catfish Gathering

Hope this is the right place to ask.

Being relatively new to keeping cats, is there an annual gathering anywhere in Britain for catfish lovers. Or does anyone know of one or two just 'general good fish' gatherings.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks all for you comments. You'll be pleased to know the little Bristlenose is happily swimming round the tank. Well not so little actually, if the "catelog" info is right (which I am absolutely sure it is before I get myself into trouble with any of the editors!) then it's only got inch if that ...

Whilst the UV sterilizer might be the best, somehow I don't think it will be as fun to watch as the Bristlenose. Thanks for your help...and also thaks for saving me some cash. The Bristlenose is the cheapest by far, just hope the shop still has one left. Mind you the L66 in the shop is a lovely ...

Clean Glass

Help please with that age old nugget of what's good at cleaning the glass. My local suppliers can offer me the following L66 Orange Spot Pleco Gold Marble Bristlenose Pecklotia vittata From your vast experiences which one will keep my glass the cleanest. I've just about discounted the P. vittata ...

About 3 or 4 days ago I notice one of my Otto's swollen, I assumed it was "bloat". It's so big it can't "sit" on it's fins but just rocks backwards and forwards on it's huge stomach. You've cheered me up at the prospect that it could be pregnant...after saying that I'll probably get back from work ...

I can only agree with Yann, I learnt the hard way but thankfully I had space for a larger tank. In my case it was Megalechis personata that kept growing. My smaller tank now has 3 species of Otocinculus in it, lovely friendly fish which keep the tank and plants very clean. Also a very cheap option ...

Lovely fish, but don't expect to see it in daylight or with the tank light on. Very noctunal but did chomp it's way through all the algae in the tank.

Definately peaceful. Worth a look if you want a small pleco.

I believe I have two L270, they were not sold to me as L270, but after joining this website I am believe that is what they are. Like you I would like to know what they are worth. Anyway, my understanding is that the male is more "brisltly", but not like the Bristlenose catfish. These are rough ...

Thanks for that, all advice appreciated. The Hoplo's are what our shops have as Hoplosternum thacarum, but this website have them as Megalechis personata. (Sorry don't know how to add the direct link to the website page.) Lovely friendly fish, even with much smaller fish, fins not included the pair ...

Eating the Plants

Alright I admit it, I need help. The tank I'm having problems in is 120 litre, and has two Hoplo's, two King Tigers, a small bristlenose and 3 Angel Fish. No matter what plants I try the fish just can't resist quoffing them. I've concidered that I don't feed them enough but this week they left the ...

Thanks for the advice from you all, tried the Hikani waffers for first time last night, the Gourami's were at the waffers before waffers reached bottom of tank. Thought my cats wouldn't get a look in but my gold nugget is certainly not shy and soon muscled in for a good quoff.
